It’s actually bad for play. Slows the game down and allows defences to get set.

Seeing what happens when Foden stays on his feet for City and the positive that comes from the play when he runs into the space and leaves the fouler for dead, far outweighs going down and winning a free kick

First thing Pep will do if we buy Grealish is tell him to pass quicker if he keeps getting fouled it means he's holding onto the ball too long.

It is effective for a set piece team like England though.
