Covid and travel discussion

People aren't cancelling holidays to Portugal etc because of the need to quarantine, they're cancelling because it costs over £1000 in covid tests for a family of 4

Compulsory PCR tests before, during, and after a holiday need to be abolished for people who have had both vaccinations,

Wait until everyone finds out the Germans can go to Majorca if they have no 2 jabs, no PCR tests etc required

Malta, Balearics and Madeira and a lot of the Caribbean have been announced as added to the Green list by Northern Ireland from 30th June, England likely to be the same.

Edit - confirmed England is the same.

So Merkel now rallying all euro countries to quarentine brits for 2 weeks when travelling abroad. Lol.

When you get the main political gaffer in Ibiza saying they can’t wait to get the brits back Wee Jimmy Krankies evil step mother is playing to the German cheap seats and only that, France will allow us double jabbed

You can thank Boris for inviting the Delta variant into the U.K. in April. With U.K. cases rising exponentially why would less vaccinated countries with much lower rates of infection let us in without control measures?

It’s already began mate. Priced up Dubai for next summer. Exact same dates, same hotel,
Airline everything cost us 3.6k for the 3 of us in 2019. Next summer 8.4k

Yikes, I won’t lie my trip is a cycling visit to Majorca for Late July which heat wise will alter what we do but I have booked this 4 times with Jet2 and with all the goings on it’s going to cost 100 quid per person more, but I can imagine web sites crashing tonight

Because like it or not some countries depend on tourists, Germany less so. D variation is out in every European mainland country it won’t be stopped, getting jabbed is the main aim for the EU now.

Does anyone know what the hell is going on with this government . Everything is definitely maybe !! We moved our Lanzarote holiday to this year (17th July). I honestly thought Canaries would go onto the green list after having low cases. I think Tenerife has had a slight spike which has left the whole of canaries on the amber list. I’ve heard later in the summer if your double jabbed your don’t have to quarantine (when is later in the summer??, September FFS) . What’s the issue regarding kids in this instance ?

It might be there but allowing a huge influx from the U.K. whilst they’re a month or two behind us in the vaccine race makes no sense. If they can delay the anticipated huge rise in cases a couple of months till another 20% are vaccinated I suspect they will.

I can't help think that the Balaerics decision is going to end in tears.
Teens or 20 year olds Uncaccinavted or with just 1 jab heading to ibiza en masse will spike up the Indian variant something rotten.
I'll put my mortgage on this turning amber by mid July.
I've nothing against people enjoying a holiday but this one won't end well.

I doubt you will be seeing the nightclubs and fleshpots opening up.

Hi mate
I've got canaries booked for October.
I think the whole of the Canaries have had a bit of a spike in cases so that's probably why their still amber sadly.
With regards to the none quarantine regs I've heard these should start perhaps July 19 in line with the big reopening or August, the idea being if your double jabbed (2 weeks after 2nd jab) then you won't have to quarantine.

The reality is still the travel industry is on its knees and the government to cautious and nonsensical in some of its approach.
