LED wrap round the stadium, with the recent advertising inside the stadium, doing the outside would be the next step.
With the advertising/media people at the club, it could/would look outstanding.
It was talked about as the final bit of the North/South Stand developmentwasnt that the rumour a few years ago? the LED wrap?
Imagine the whole stadium, it would look stunning, it could be seen from 10s miles away, an incredible advert and I would think a great revenue earner.I know, could you imagine the current South Stand exterior a giant screen? You'd be able to watch it as you pull into Piccadilly Station
Sounds good. But then again, we've not been able to change a few fckin bulbs on the roof for the last 10 years!Imagine the whole stadium, it would look stunning, it could be seen from 10s miles away, an incredible advert and I would think a great revenue earner.
LED tech is also very reasonable now compared with years ago.
I would think it would be a dream for a top graphic artist to have a stadium size canvas to work on, the results could be incredible.
LOL very true, at least with the LED, there are no bulbs to change, so think positive!!Sounds good. But then again, we've not been able to change a few fckin bulbs on the roof for the last 10 years!
It’s not happening.Expansion of the stadium could cause disruption. A simple ‘add a third tier to the North Stand’ should cause no problems. Anything beyond that would.
in particular the ideas being bandied about on here for a large single tier for the North Stand would shut the whole end for a sustained period, maybe a full season? That would cause mayhem for existing season ticket holders.
I suspect that the least disruption would be provided by starting work at the end of the upcoming season. A lot of those who are likely to defer this season will probably not renew. That could give the scope to shuffle people around. I will be surprised if anything happens.
That all makes me think that either we will see nothing happen or the North Stand will get a third tier. If the aspirations of the club extend beyond a circa 60,000 capacity, the would entail a new stadium being constructed.
Chelsea have managed expectations without expanding by pushing up prices. Arsenal, Spurs, and West Ham moved to new stadia and seem to be filling them despite very high prices.
City face a harder task to fill 60,000+ seats in Manchester.
Whichever option City go for will
It’s not happening.
It would be madness to put another 6000 seats which would not be used for many games. The feasibility studies say no - it’s why it hasnt
Others on this thread seem to be ignoring that the club have literally just ripped out 1100 seats that were only put in 3 seasons ago.
53000 will be a sufficient capacity for the next decade. If it’s sufficient now during the Pep years - it will certainly be more of than sufficient in the post Pep years.
This thread should focus on the Arena and connected hospitality developments which are gonna be fantastic
They''ll still run out of chips.A mate of a friend who lives near the stadium overheard a conversation that.. we plan to knock down the stadium and build a 95,000 seater stadium complete with retractable pitches and home made pie kiosks.
dont shoot the messager

Superb sir!! And yet some folk want a big fuckin telly wrapped round the stadium, it would end up like a modern day version of the north stand scoreboardSounds good. But then again, we've not been able to change a few fckin bulbs on the roof for the last 10 years!
Haha the Norman Collier microphone has just come into, my head.Superb sir!! And yet some folk want a big fuckin telly wrapped round the stadium, it would end up like a modern day version of the north stand scoreboard

Crackin story mateShowing my age… I remember some bloke giving Swales a kicking at the AGM re the North Stand Scoreboard and Swales fobbing him off saying the manufacture had gone bust and it couldn’t be repaired… fast forward 12 months and the same bloke furnished Swales with full details of the manufacturer- which contrary to Swales claims was not bust and was very much still in business… Swales was obviously unmoved by the fact he’d been exposed yet again as a pathological liar and as you’d know the North Stand Scoreboard never worked (although I think Swales did promise to look into a repair) - then again in the latter Swales era who’d want to be reminded of the score.
Well Leeds and the dippers are extending again? The etihad just looks strange with only one side extended?
Our average over the last few full seasons (pre-Covid) has been between 700-1000 below full capacity so surely they've just been relocated rather than removed? This is average so obviously the 'big' games will be around a 1,000 down. Some of those 'empty seats' will also be away fans.Do people think 1 additional (and larger) advertising board dsplaying the same add as the other advertising board will bring in more revenue than 1000 seats that have been removed, including drinks, food, merchandise, etc, over 19 PL home home games and domestic and CL cup games? I can't see a huge difference in revenue either way. Not enough to justify removing '1000 City fans' from home matches.
