Has a very good chance to win the golden boot and/or player of the tournament if he can keep scoring against Sweden/Ukraine and Denmark/Croatia

So pleased for him. Get him signed up City.
Made up for him. Sterling came into this tournament under a lot of pressure after a poor season with City, but he has answered the critics in the best possible way. Hopefully, he will be back to his best playing in a blue shirt next season

I'm sure when sterling's agent has gone in for wage negotiations he has mentioned him being england international etc , and demanded to be one of city's highest earners, so for him to go 3 months out of form is not good enough for the team we want to be.

It's fine when Bernardo does it, was fine when Agüero, David Silva and Yaya Touré did it, fine when it was Gundogan or Nasri or Dzeko or Walker.

But for some reason when Sterling has a bad few months people want him gone. I don't get it.

He was brilliant, and deserves all the plaudits.

I've been slated as a Raz apologist elsewhere, but I will say that either he and Phillips lack of cohesiveness on Raz's pass that led to the Muller missed chance was I dunno...a wee bit lucky?

TBF, this is a sign of players not used to one another.

What helped today when it worked were where understanding of one another seemed present.

The partnership Stones-Walker and we know Stones and McGuire get along well

England playing in a way that showed how Kane-Grealesh-Sterling front 3 could be for us AND England (it would suit England to have them both come to City just for that)

Oh and there's this lad Foden too.

Very curious what will happen with Raz now. We know he wants a KDB level contract.

His value is back up tremendously now, but I think we give him one more go next season.

Holding will mean any fee will be less, with 1 year left, but hard to know what the market is like next summer or even winter.

I'm as unconvinced by a striker Sterling as I am with Torres. Part of what gets Sterling his goals is his movement from wide areas. He can't really do that centrally, where his lack of strength (relative to most CBs) and indecisiveness would work against him.

There no one out there who could afford him so we will try to him to sign a new contract if not we have two years with him..

Torres is a much better finisher
