Rumours circulating that HS2 to be scrapped beyond Birmigham to the North.

No doubt a lot of NIMBYS will be happy, until the land gets built on.

Far too many fat cats have made an extra million or several from this scheme already. I know one politician in particular who managed to sell his house because it was on the line and get a great price, then miraculously the planned route changes and he's bought it back for peanuts.

Links up here are poor, considering the amount of business that is here. We need better rail, better routes trans Pennine, a lot more than a train to London which is about twenty minutes faster.
