BTW does anyone know what the latest is with Tebas' legal issues, his relationship with the Spanish FA?

As much as I'd love to see Messi put a City Shirt on and I can watch him every week, I'm just not sure this will happen and plus would be a very short term measure - the commercial benefits would be amazing as I'm sure he will pay for himself but what impact would that have on the players and what they want salary wise?

Lets see what happens - popcorn in hand
It would be no more than a media circus. Rolled out like a freak show every week regardless of form, fitness etc.
He's far bigger than FC Barcelona, and he'd quickly become bigger than whatever club he may sign for.
I can't imagine any players being happy seeing him getting double or triple their wages for the same job. It's a ridiculous situation.
I genuinely hope he doesn't come to City, it would only end in tears.

So hypothetically if we buy Messi, assuming Bernardo goes and nobody else and we still have 1 place to fill.
Do we drop the striker interest and go full false 9 but unlike last season when we relied on midfielders scoring we have probably the greatets false 9, Messi to score.
Or do we drop the Grealish interest and play Messi with a striker.
For me both would work, but I would go for the first option and buy Grealish to replace Bernardo and let Messi replace Aguero.

Hypothetically, for me depends on who not what position. Assumung messi is in and berbardo out. If it is haaland, then sign a striker and not an AM. If it is Kane, drop the striker and add Graelish, sign a striker next year. That's me, hypothetically.

You're dead to me.

:-)

I read he’s on a lot more, but maybe the figures I read included sponsorships etc because it had Messi on over 1 million euros a week too

Its no wonder they are in the shit
I think that is the case (also pretax numbers). Most of the numbers in Spain seems to be pretax I think (not sure). I doubt Greizmann is much above the highest paid PL players.

Messi does things no other player can do. Thats why he gets money no other player should get near. End of story.

I'd take him for 2 seasons in a heartbeat. Even at crazy wages. The confidence and arrogance he'd bring to the rest of the squad could also be transformative.

Just imagine what you'd get from training with him...suddenly players who have plodded through training are bringing their A game week in week out.

I don’t mind tears when lifting hardwares ;)

I wonder if he cones are we ready for the circus that follows, if you think we get shit in the media now it will be on a whole new level, however the worlds press will lap it up and to see the others in the premier league crumble will be fantastic. Other clubs will thank us as I guarantee a full house at any ground we play at if he’s in our squad. In fact the premier league should give us a huge bonus if he does come.

Yeah, just never known Pep to get involved in the way he has, seems strange.

Pep loves a pop at Tebas.

The guy is probably bored. Tolmie not posting that many videos, everything quiet, graelish not playing that much for england, kdb out of the tournament, maybe he just has nothing better to do.
