As has been said, he is following the Beckham path to becoming a media construct. In other words, image over substance.

Having just "written" a book called "You are a Champion - How to be the best you can be"(this is true), he will probably marry a top pop star, launch a clothing fashion range, change his coiffure weekly, relocate to LA, appear in Hello-style trash mags, put his name to endless merchandise, make friends with Piers Morgan - not to mention the inevitable knighthood.

He's declined as a footballer and took the way of Team Beckham. He's just a PR machine now that will feed bullshit to the fans.

Probably be announced he's shagging a pop star after the Euros to complete the celebrity changeover.
Or a tennis star !

From the BBC Gossip

Manchester United are not working on a player swap deal to bring England striker Harry Kane, 27, to Old Trafford from Tottenham. (Sunday Express)

Ed Woody "is that Mr Levy? Ed Woody here.... so about Harry Kane.... take you pick from de Gea, Greenwood, St Marcus or Danny de Beek....... we can throw in Fred too..... Mr Levy...... hello..... Mr Levy???"

2016/17: 3068 minutes, 11 goals, 7 assists -- 170 minutes per goal or assist (g/a)
2017/18: 2676 minutes, 13 goals, 10 assists -- 116 minutes per g/a
2018/19: 3291 minutes, 13 goals, 11 assists -- 137 minutes per g/a
2019/20: 3473 minutes, 22 goals, 12 assists -- 102 minutes per g/a
2020/21: 4146 minutes, 21 goals, 15 assists -- 115 minutes per g/a

TOTAL: 16,654 minutes, 80 goals, 55 assists -- 123 minutes per g/a
Thanks for this. So:
Goal every 208 mins
Assist every 303 mins
Not very good really for a striker, or is he?

I was more thinking St Marcus and Silly Sally would start their own day time tv show - a sort of UK Regis and Kelly - 'Sally and Marcus'. Or maybe Saint & Sally ?
I think Sally has been working to get a daytime show ever since leaving BBC NW. It's difficult to see who is using who in that pair made in PR heaven.

One thing though, he won’t be going to Real Madrid!
