Honestly, his form over the last 6 months for city fucked me off big time, so pains me to see him all of a sudden turn it on for England. Seems a completely different player! Just bloody hope that continues when the season starts!

Sterling is a brilliant footballer, I'd would go as far as to say he would be the world's best if he could strike a ball cleanly. I'm also astonished the lack of appreciation he gets on here and the seeming willingness to sell him when he was rumoured to be for sale. He's not as easy on the eye as DeBruyne or Mahrez but he's a highly effective footballer.

I do think that dive/fall will bite him on the arse. Himself and Kane will look terrible when the refs are reviewing that match in preparation for Sunday. After the first semi I said it to a mate that the Italian fullback is ripe for conceding that exact peno to Sterling, I can't see that happening now unless he amputates him.

The hate he gets is from the manner in which he left one of the 2 biggest clubs. Like it or not falling out with either of those has consequences. I can't think of a single player that ever left them and went on to be a darling of the public. He also dives/goes down easy as much as any other player in the league. One minute in the PL season he does this. Its hard to like.

Txiki and Soriano must be regretting failing to get Raheem to sign a new contract before the Euro's if he is awarded player of the tournament he has just put another £50k a week on his wage demands , but if it means he transfers his England form to our blue shirts then it will be worth it.

One nice thing is that with Sterling putting in some seriously good performances on a very high profile stage, hopefully some of the fans on here who want him gone will finally have to put a respectable £value next to his name.

Instead of wumming/trolling and having a dig at other posters, let's try to stick to the subject in hand, yes? If it keeps up, warnings or bans are a possibility.
The subject at hand which we are referring to was deleted/merged though? Asking why he gets so much criticism is different to a performance thread is it not?

Currently the subject is why was the thread from the main page merged with this one?

Think it's only fair to ask the question. Almost as if whilst the country is celebrating Sterling, here on Bluemoon the negativity of a tiny minority dictates conversation about him must be buried in this thread.

What has that got to do with posters obsessing with other posters, and having digs at them?
Well it wouldn’t have happened in the first place if one of them hadn’t fucking moaned and had the thread pulled would it.
Leave you to it, you obviously don’t see the issue.

There's still no need for posters to be having a pop at each other. Oh, and by the way; before anyone else has a go, I'm not responsible for the threads being merged.

To get it back on topic - be interesting to see if Sterling plays from the right or the left tonight. He's been brilliant when he's right and Italy do have a weakness at left back.

Why was my topic about Sterling why does he get so much hate merged ?

I think thats a topic which needs to be talked about.

It is not done you know if he misses a chance Tonight he WILL be the scapegoat AGAIN
Sorry, that was me. Just seemed like the same posters were having the same arguments in two different places, so thought it’d make more sense to keep it in one thread as there was a lot of overlap.

That's weird, last time I looked at that thread it felt like everyone was eulogising over Sterling and his performances and generally discussing how perceptions of him had changed up and down the country. There was definitely the same bobbins stuff in this thread but I thought that one had escaped it.

I’d like to see Grealish start left with raz right and a 3 at the back so the full backs pushing up to make the attacking numbers up

That's exactly what I said in a what's app group I'm on with some mates. Grealish left and Sterling right would be probably be my choice if he's not going to play Saka or Sancho and Foden isn't fit.

Feels like the coaches have prepared each game individually really well, so maybe whether it's Mount or Grealish they'll play from the left to let Sterling run at their lb.

It was getting a bit tetchy again last night tbf. I'll try and move it all back into a separate thread though when I get a minute.

I dont agree with you. Everyone agrees he's been great even Liverpool fans say that. It has nothing to do about the way he is playing and what people are saying about that.
My feeling was that had Rashford for example gotten that pen the outcry would not be the same .

I thought the name calling and calling him a cheat world wide was shocking.

And I think we as City fan dont back him as we should.

I can understand that some say it was a pen others not but it was not cheating.

And Ahsan I am your biggest fan but why didn't you discusse the pen in the review podcast ?
