Read a few times that England have overachieved in getting to the final.

Sorry, that's just bollocks.

Just like the WC, England have played one decent team and lost. Hardly overachieving.

Me
1. Saka should never have taken a decisive penalty. Where were the senior players?

2. We had 34% possession over the game against Italy who aren't a possession side.

3. Two shots all game.
Man knows his football. Can i add, Rice off instead of Philips. Grealish on way too late.

what's laughable is you wetting yourself because people on here aren't all wearing their Euro 96 shirts and crying into their beers over this.

Again this is a City forum where people will discuss all things connected to City - including Mancini.

wetting myself haha

again what do you expect. A city forum where most of the match going city fans are from England and support England…

your previous posts suggest you don’t give a shit, but that’s not reflected across Manchester or the country.

we’ve just lost a penalty shoot out after coming so close. Emotions will be high… we’ll try and be robotic like you, but that’s difficult for most people

most city fans will care more about our city players then Mancini aswell.

Think Southgate bought into his own hype of doing things well by being defensive.

He set us up more defensive than the Italians!

They had 66% possession tonight. I think that's the most they had all tournament?

Rashford has to get back to making football his number one priority.
Otherwise he will go down as long list who did not achieve anything like they should have in their careers.

We exceeded my pre tournament expectation to get into the final. Was always going to be tough playing Italy.

Played a bit safe overall and if Southgate looks back he should of made subs earlier tonight to freshen it up.
Totally agree.
Italy bossed that game after the first 20 mins
Southgate thought he could shut them out so was reluctant to change things.
It’s galling to see Henderson come on before the likes of Grealish and Foden.
I still maintain Southgate is far too conservative.
Bobby schooled him today.

Im no tactical genius, but after 25mins i could see how this was gonna end up? that fuckin clown couldn’t obv? or maybe he could & he’s master plan was the 94th min subs :-/

To be fair, Rashford and Sancho both have excellent penalty records.

Southgate himself would know that trying to take a penalty when you've never (or almost never) scored one previously is almost certainly statistically more risky.

That’s a fair point, I'd always favour a specialist over a "rookie".

I've just remembered that OGS's penalty tactics actually did work as it was De Gea that missed and not any of the players he brought on in the Europa league.

Hard to score against Donnarumma when he is a giant of a man.

Two saves from both keepers. Pickford was excellent in the shootout. Rashford's miss was the difference.

25 minutes of great football, harrowing, chances, a goal and then 65 minutes of defending against an average team. Cue extra time, a defensive mid for a defensive mid, cue penalties...bring on the hop skip and jumpers and let saka go 5th? Where were the other players who should have stepped up?

Liked him at City but can't be happy for him to beat England. Italy can get fucked.
I'm not English and was contemplating who to support tonight. I was 50-50 between supporting a City legend and my favorite manager VS. 4 of our players. In the end I was far more gutted seeing our boys lose their second huge final in a month. I'm gutted for them and at the same time very proud to see our players put themselves in these positions for trophies.
