Boltfromtheblu on twitter I believe, and tbf Didn't Stones come in during the dead of night, and essentially got leaked because the UCL squad got released with him in it?

The 96 shootout still weighed heavily on Southgate. He practices penalties as Venables didn't and made subs for them just as Venables didn't. But he should have thought more about the occasion than he did. You can walk from the halfway in training and bang them in 10 times in a row but it is just not the same.

However, there's no guarantee anyone else would have scored. I haven't watched them back because it is too raw, but Donnaruma dived the same way for each penalty didn't he? Kane who is confident and experienced banged his hard and past his reach, Rashford who has experience did everything but score...still not sure how he missed. Sancho and Saka's were just the perfect height with no conviction.

You wonder if it was all a bit too scientific from Southgate, too measured. But a lesson learned. He definitely picked the takers because he stepped forward in 96 and everyone knew/knows he shouldn't have been taking one. So he took it away from them.

As you say, it is what it is. How good for English football if we can sign Kane and Grealish to go with Walker, Stones, Foden and Sterling. Those boys under Pep at City can go and win England the World Cup instead!

Sir Dickhead aka Garry Southgate, apparently had one of his minions arrange a 'fun' penalty competition after every training session. The final results were collated, and formed the basis for the order of takers in the event of a penalty shootout.

Given that he was one of those hooked to bring Lord Fishfinger on for post-hitting duties, I can only conclude that Jordan Henderson couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

It was ages ago. No-one gives a shit anymore.
