Harry Kane

True to an extent. But wildly inflammatory public comments are reserved for Tebas and the German clowns at Bayern and BVB.
Bayern maybe clowns in fact they are, but the way they get the players at the price they want we could learn from.

It's not always the case but more than often is, they are flat track bullies and sometimes there is nothing wrong with that.

It's going to cost a lot of money for sure
still prefer him considerably over Kane, but doing that deal would be a nightmare and could upset a lot of players in our dressing room, hence why I understand IF the club have walked away from it.

Not for me. Whilst both will score plenty, Kane will be settled and committed, likely wanting to end his career with us. I'm not sure we could say that with Haaland who's agent will be itching for him to be moving every 2 or 3 seasons to line his pockets.

Personally I don’t see City landing Kane or Haaland. Lewandowski would be a very good short term option.
It’s not looking good although I feel maybe we can manage with Jesus and Torres in central attacking roles and Delap as a backup squad player.
I know I will receive pelters for this but I see a lot of potential for Torres as a central striker. I can be see him scoring plenty of goals.

In what way is it not looking good?

Chelsea all over our attempts at signing a Striker. Levy playing hardball as we knew he would. Raiola a total nightmare in any negotiations. It feels to me rightly or wrongly we are not going to get over the line with these players. MBappe is unlikely. The options don’t seem to be out there.
That’s my honest opinion from what I’m reading so far.

I don't go with the theory that Riaola would want to move him on ever few years, that's a bit of a myth.

But their wage and fee demands would probably be outrageous, for someone, however good he looks is still relatively unproven and the wage issue could and probably would cause issues in our dressing room.

Sadly I can't see any alternative to Kane.

Reading on a forum and other internet outlets?

Reading on City forum, newspapers, other outlets. More so reading on here whereby the Kane and Haaland threads don’t appear to be giving much hope to me. I know there is plenty of time to do a deal but with pre season starting I may personally draw a line on signing these players if nothing concrete happens by the end of this coming week.
Call it a gut feeling!

Go and top that glass up, chief. It needs to be half full.

Why "sadly"?

Maybe we could get him for a lot less than £200m with us being able to trigger his release clause in 6mths for £65m? i think it was. didn't he grow up a City fan and his dad played for us too, he'd probably stay with us his whole career and any release clause would be huge, 200m+ if he insisted on one

I think we need to remember that the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and a number of the other G14 clubs are far more adept at exploiting free transfers of fixed buy outs… they are old hands at under the table payments, payments to family members who are not registered etc. - remember Isco - we refused to give his father millions a year throughout the contract but Real Madrid never saw it as an issue. City are under close scrutiny and we need to do everything by the book - sadly some of our competitors can quite simply get away with all manner of financial doping and whilst accusing us they are using it to their advantage. Football is not a level playing field and UEFA are spineless at making it such.

But it is a reasonable deal at 120m plus, Spurs know it and so do We.

Who and what are the alternatives?

Haaland would cost a crazy amount and then who genuinely wants Lukaku?

Spurs need cash, we need a striker, the deal will get done.
I'd much rather get someone like isak. If we wanted someone more high profile then Felix. If we wanted the perfect striker for Pep to mould into what he wants someone like evanilson would be perfect if we gave Jesus this season to show what he can do. Evanilson has everything to excite the fans and could be a superstar. I just can't see kane being great for 3+ years. I know it's not a popular opinion but kane on a 5 year contract seems insane.

A lot of corruption in football for sure

Bayern have a model that’s difficult to replicate. Position themselves as kings of Bavaria, tie their success as critical to the wellbeing of the Bundesliga (you have nothing without us). Have the DFB in their pocket - and can tap up any player they want, and they quite clearly coerce players to run down contracts; and whilst everyone across Germany is wholly aware that Bayern are abusing a dominant position - no one really calls it out let alone attempts to address it. In all seriousness- if you are going to play fussball in Germany you need to play for Bayern because theirs not much chance of winning anything if you ply your trade elsewhere. it’s a farce of a situation in a farce of a league but nothing is going to change - clubs and fans seem resigned to the situation and content themselves to competing for second place, building a competitive squad after Bayern have had first pick and securing European qualification.

I love Felix and would be delighted to get him but in place of Grealish, as to me he is not an out and out striker.

The only striker is Kane but only if Mbappe and Haaland are not options.
