The financial finalised may still be tricky. So, Barca need to clear out salaries of £246m in season 21/22 (around £5m a week). Then they have to add on Aguero, Garcia, Emerson and Messi himself. They are still in a massive pickle and Messi 'agreeing' to a deal means sweet fa.

I dont think Barca can afford not to have him, I bet a lot of their sponsors have "Messi clauses" that rely on him being there. Messi goes and they are probably even worse off.

i did a quick look back to last summer and the reports and media stories
one stood out ? messi is going to be the first £1million a week player in the premier league hahahahaahah

well looking at what was reported the other week messi final contract at barcelona was £123million a year
and about £10million a month £2.5million a week. so it was never going to be just £1million a week at city

thank fuck city did not fall for the hype and nothing in football is worth paying a player that sort of money

Well the financial job of Barca is to pay back short term loans where cash sales would no doubt go.
Certainly they will get a plus on Messi but unless cashflow wise they can get his sponsors to shellout sooner than later and probably direct to Messi they are in big future trouble.
Then how to service the 1.5 billion as well presumably with new money again to service the short termers owing.

Maybe they can sell but in the real world would this be allowed to continue I wonder.
