Best Ever Headed City Goal

I was very low down in the stand behind the goal. Thought Sergio's movement for the goal was superb. Probably the only time he got away from Luiz all day. Luiz played so well that I think it was the match where Sergio ended up stamping on him?

Billy Macadams can't remember who we we playing, but it was in 1958/ 59 when he dived between the boots of two defender no more than 18 inches off the floor to score as well as being clatter on the head by two pair of boots,Platt Lane end. He was the bravest player I have ever seen

Always remember dave Watson v Ipswich as a bullet of a header but the one that still gives me goosebumps is hintchcliffs v rags what a goal what a day.

Hard to see past Dave Watson and then Hinchcliffe v the Rags. I refuse to believe that is the same Andy Hinchcliffe that hates us now.

As far as I know, Andy Black is the only City player to have headed a goalkeeper's clearance straight back over the keeper's head into the net.

In a match v Charlton in 1947, Sam Bartram ran out of his area to boot a loose ball clear, but didn't get much elevation on the ball and hit it hard about head height straight to Black. He bravely headed the heavy old leather casey back over Bartram's head from what must have been about 30 or35 yards.

Black later ran a pub at Moss Nook and I think there was a cartoon of the incident on the bar counter.
