if its a 5 year deal the payments are spread over 5 years for FFP so 100mil is acounted at 20mil P/Y, when looked at like that the fee is reasonable plus to add Fodens value who cost us nothing, its all about financial ballance and were in the right direction

"Villa's owners, Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, are targeting a place in European football in years to come and Grealish is the player who they hoped would spearhead their quest.

This move from Guardiola now threatens those plans after finally making his much-anticipated move for Grealish, whose association with Villa began at the age of six.

Grealish will be 26 in September and is yet to play in European football at club level, which appears to be a major factor in what happens next. He holds his own personal ambitions and will know that a move to the Etihad will guarantee him the Champions League in September.

If Grealish does move, which now looks inevitable, there is no doubt that Villa will be very active in trying to ensure Dean Smith can continue progressing."

Their roots go back to 1880, they first won the F.A. Cup in 1904 and first won the First Division in 1936-37 (Charlton were runners-up!). Yes, they've been transformed out of all proportion, but this idea that they're a plastic club with no roots is puerile playground taunt stuff. New wealth doesn't wipe out what a club achieved in the past, and it's hard to blame a club that has arguably suffered in the shadow of successful neighbours more than any other, grabbing the opportunity to convert itself from mid-table also-rans into top contenders and securing some bragging rights.

Leave out the City benefits, Grealish moving to us benefits England. Both him and Kane will improve as players with us and go even stronger into next world cup.

He was a difference maker in knockout rounds when he came on, albeit the one instance where it was for a short time, Southgate's mind obviously.

I think some people here should really consider why City would go for Grealish, it will be because they have a plan and a way to use him, and Grealish has allegedly accepted it because obviously he bought into that plan (hopefully not jinxed). Leave what the so called neutrals think of it, they have nothing but 'oil club' or whatever lazy insults to throw at us.
