And the three nations cases today with England to come are 2679

Last week it was 3221 at this stage. Yesterday it was 2777

England later added 20, 290 to last weeks 3221 to total 23 511

Yesterday England added 19 175 to that 2777 to total 21 952

ZOE APP DATA

More falls here today

Predicted cases down 2500 to 47, 541 - fallen daily now for over a week from nearly 63K. First sub 50K.

Ongoing symptomatic cases down 15, 209 to 767, 190 Bigger fall than yesterday - 11, 843 - when the total was 782, 399.

Started falling a few days ago after rising more and more slowly for previous week.

It was at a highest ever number of 806, 741 on 30 July.

ZOE APP REGIONAL DATA TODAY

Zoe have made changes today and SPLIT the NHS regions into the same divisions the UK GOV data is released daily. No idea why.

So they now count East and West Midlands as TWO regions not one combined (like the NHS data does) and splits North East as a separate region with Yorkshire and Humber the other half of what the NHS counts as a single region.

For me alignment with the NHS data is more important than case numbers but in the cases report do give both versions and have for a while.

In the regions Zoe also shows everyone down.

The NORTH EAST (even without Yorkshire) is now Zoe's TOP region on 874 / 1357

Northern Ireland now second - DOWN AT 533 / 1680 FROM 681 / 1937

London DOWN AT 822 / 1027 FROM 910 / 1126

NE & Yorkshire (only other region with London and N Ireland in top watch zone) DOWN to 814 / 1072 FROM 843 / 1202

North West DOWN to 682 / 933 FROM 711 / 962 FROM .

The other regions just a bit below there.

IN the lowest watch zones still are:-

Wales DOWN to 316 / 599 FROM 335 / 629

But still the best is Scotland today DOWN to 210 / 404 from at 212 / 406

21, 691 cases - down just 261 on yesterday. And 1820 week to week from 23, 511

Seems we may have hit the wall and flattened right off. As the week before the fall was a huge 23, 047

Which way we go from here will be key.

138 all settings deaths (must have been quite a bit of double counting in the NHS numbers which is good news)

It pisses me off that those choosing not to get vaccinated are slowing down the return to normality for everyone, and are costing the NHS a fortune in treatment that wouldn't be necessary if they were jabbed.
There is no getting through to them unfortunately, I was involved with a heated chat again after football last night. 6 of us, 2 of whom are double vaccinated, the other 4 completely anti vax. It was unreal the shit they were coming out with, not a prayer of getting any logic whatsoever. “Fit enough to take our chances, conspiracy, who knows what’s in the vaccine“ etc etc. I just gave up and switched subjects.

HIGHLIGHTS TODAY

North West falls by 186 to 2265 - lowest NW total in 45 days.

London, South East and Yorkshire ALL had more cases today - as well as the combined NE & Yorkshire and East & West Midlands - also both well above NW.

Week to week that NW fall is 418 from 2683 last Tuesday.

Out of the above Greater Manchester had a fairly unspectacular day but not a bad one.

It was only down day to day by 5 of that 186 to 901.

Though week to week it was down a much more equitable 187 of the NW 418 fall. Week to week being the more important as it shows trends over 7 days unlike daily changes that are subject to a day or two testing hold ups that can decrease or increase from day to day.

THE BIG THING TO TAKE FROM GREATER MANCHESTER IS THIS

8 of the 10 boroughs were under three figure cases today. First time in nearly two months.

It was Oldham's turn to be bad guy - up day to day and week to week and just over 100 at 114. But like Stockport yesterday only by small numbers.

Manchester - of course - was over 100 and in fact over 200 (just) but unlike Oldham down week to week.

Trafford was up day to day but down week to week and still sub 100. It had exactly the same Pop Score rise as Stockport today - 33 - big improvement for Stockport which was also under 100 cases for the first time since 27 June.

Wigan had its lowest score in weeks (74) - a huge improvement on the 516 it scored just 17 days ago!

But Bolton again outdid the rest in GM and is the first GM borough to have a weekly POP score below 200 since Stockport exited the 100s on 22 June.

Today on just 52 cases (NOT the lowest in GM today - Bury had 50) - Bolton had the lowest daily Pop Score rise of just 18 today - first under 20 in weeks in GM.

Half of GM had daily Pop Score rises over 100 daily just a fortnight ago. So that shows the progress.

The people that are even worse are those that promote this anti-vax nonsense. Too many people are gullible and are victims of the anti-vax trolls.
