Harry Kane

That sort of money could be used on buying half a dozen promising players from South American. If even two came off it would be worth it.
So you think using the Kane money on half a dozen promising youngsters, 2 of whom could come off, makes more sense than buying the best striker in the league, who guarantees goals right now? When do these supposed 2 of 6 come good? And how far could we have fallen by that point?

It's a good idea, but needed to be done 2-5 years before Kun left, not six months after. So yes, we need to buy a finished product rather than potential

This Kane saga will be a cautionary tale to future Spurs talents to never trust a snake like Levy. You have to be stupid to believe he would ever honor a gentleman's agreement.

Although Kane's a great finisher, a lot of his goals come from the fact he's generally a high volume shooter, like Aguero was. He's not going to magically score all the chances we miss, in fact he'll miss a tonne too.

The fact that he is such a great finisher suggests he’ll finish a lot more chances than the likes of Sterling, Bernardo and Jesus.

IF we can finally prise him away from Spurs he’ll score absolutely fucking tons of goals for us with KDB, Sterling, Foden and Mahrez creating so many opportunities. Just one more goal per game than we score now would be enough to win almost every game we play!

Unfortunately nothing is guaranteed in football.

He will be judged hard because of the fee paid, add to that he wont be the top dog at the club. This all contributes to confidence levels. And confidence is so key.

Perhaps, but exactly which one of City, Utd, Chelsea & Liverpool do you plan on KOing ?

We could replace the one out of these four who has a bad season.

I don't understand why it is so fantastical. We have done it on several occasions recently. After all we agreed that we'll have a £160m striker that you cant afford leading our line...

You could put Messi into your side alongside Kane and you still wouldn't finish top 4.

We agree. The deal will collapse. Both sides are too far apart.

Of course now there are greater financial threats to Spurs but I am certain that the business plan does not require us to sell Kane or play in the Champions League. Nor do I think we are completely shit. I am sure the new manager is telling Levy we have a better than a puncher's chance of the making the top four.
To be fair how would Nuno have any clue what is needed for a top 4 finish in England?

To be fair, it was done 2-5 years before Kun left, and the result is Gabby Jesus. The reality is that 99% of any youngsters you bring in are not going to become world class. They might become good squad players, but replacing Aguero requires the best in the world.
