Given the choice I’d go for Messi, never been sure that Kane would suit us & im not convinced Levy would deal with us. Leaving Kane in a shit fight with Spurs for next few years is comforting.

Not getting Messi is ok, not going for him is madness.

Yes but people are using the line he's used us as a reason they don't want us to sign him, which as we don't know that's true, seems daft to me.

FFP has effectively been suspended because of COVID. So these numbers will not impact them from a UEFA FFP perspective. La Liga has its own FFP type rules and they are not being given a pass on the forward looking wage bill v's income rule. It is a situation that could be resolved within the Spanish system but it it clearly isn't getting sorted.

But FFP and Spanish league rules are slightly beside the point. They have been living beyond their means for years and covid has only brought forward the inevitable. As i said yesterday and have been saying for months they are fecked! This needed to happen.

just watched the conference. Laporta confirmed there’s no going back. This is a two horse race now.
