the last 100 pages are basically every journalist saying we are not in it for him and every poster here responding with "nah, surely we are"

I reckon we're deffo in for him, we'd be daft not to!
If we get him is another thing entirely which is why I'm not aboard the hype train.

The whole play was designed to give Barca and Messi a way out where nobody loses face IMO.

Messi will come to City if it happens, now I rate Messi he's a proper little genius but if we entertain him here it'll be a circus, he'll always be a Barca player and all he will be doing is enjoying a busmans holiday.

That being said it's incredible just how far we've come, sort of in for Messi but not that mithered if we land him or not.

I understand the argument but one of them is worth hundreds of millions and the other is skint.
Oh come the fuck on. Barca earn circa €650m every fucking year as a pre-covid rule. Mainly due to the excellence of Messi over the last decade and a half.

It’s not Messi’s fault Barca decided to spend £250m on fucking Coutinho and Dem-fucking-Bele.

But it's not though. The journalists are saying 'currently' city are not in for him. How can you 'currently' not be in for a player who is about to sign for a new club? Surely you can only be completely out.

Unless you want to get Kane boxed off and then try to get Messi

He doesnt give a shit about emotionally destroying us using us for a decade , fuck him , made his bed
I can’t say he ever emotionally destroyed me, kaz. Partly because I never believed he was remotely near joining us. I think most of the hoo-hah was just wishful thinking among our own community and doubt the little guy ever pleasured himself over an A to Z of Greater Manchester.

Nevertheless, I’d giggle like a schoolgirl if he begged to join us and we told him to do one.

how Barca ended up getting so greedy that they dumped Laporta for Rosell and started the downward spiral of greed and incompetence. Laporta must have walked back in, taken one look and gone "what the fuck have you done to my club?". For all his faults Soriano at least builds things.
Lets just hope the next set of people that will run our club in the future doesn't come close to the incompentence of Bartomeu and co

In other news the loan of our second striker (Delap) has been delayed due to a ‘slight knock’.

Now if I was potentially looking at Messi and financially it meant Kane COULD be jeopardised (recognising the fact that the Messi deal might be totally different and financed differently by Messi clauses etc) - I would definitely go belt and braces and keep delap to hand if possibly needed.
