Yep, missed that, but I think the point originally being made was that we need a focal point to the attack when we’re not playing two youth teamers in midfield.

He has been on about it all week, that is the main crux of the argument, hence why I said what difference would it make today, no point bleating in the matchday thread about needing another striker when the fact that our main striker is also not in the matchday squad.

I know everyone is talking about Torres and his lack of touches but people have to remember, this is his first game back. He hasn’t had any preseason games. Plus, he’ll probably be fully learning how to play that 9/false 9 role this season. Cut him some slack I’d say.

He's playing exactly like he did every time he was a 9 last season.

No involvement in the game, completely unable to hold the ball up, will probably score a big chance if someone gives him one.

Decent half. No suprise that Palmer and Endozie have found the going tough. Would like to see more from Torres and Mahrez. Steffen and the defence doing ok. Fern and Gundog have done some good things but also given it away carelessly at times. City understandably rusty and undercooked so this is a useful test.
