Who gives a fuck what villa fans think?

First half we looked what we were - very rusty. Second half we found our feet and were on top most of the time without being too threatening. Edozie was overawed first half but showed some of what he can do in the second. Palmer was very good when he switched from the right after the subs. Grealish is going to have to work harder on getting free kicks now he's at football's "enemy club".

No argument with the pen, Ake made a mess of the challenge but Rodri's back passes are sloppy at times.

Or you could just ignore the ones that irritate you like most people, and post your own opinions about the game where and when you see fit.

I'll never understand the people on here who constantly whine about game day and post match threads. It's boring and pedantic as all fuck. Opinion during game day is often emotional. It's often negative. It's often overly critical. That's football, and it's not specific to us - get used to it.

Pep unlike posters on here can see the bigger picture of the benefit of not rushing back many of our players.

It will be a tricky start to the season but we will benefit from the strategy as we did last season in the long run

we hardly played our reserves, shows to me that the depth thats massively spoken of isn’t as great. Not just because of today but quite a few times last year the second we dropped a few players then the players coming in weren’t quite good enough. We won the league last year but I imagine ake and Torres actual win percentage when starting won’t be overly high. Gutted we lost as I always want to win, isn’t the end of the world though

What on earth did he do today to merit that comment ? Going forward he was excellent. Defensively he's not great but don't recall any serious errors. Overall he was far better than most City players today.
 
Decent test that, which came at exactly the right time, nobody gets comfortable after a few tick over wins in pre season, minutes in the legs, young lads did well and excellent prep for Spurs, who’ll be equally up for it (in a similar way) due to the HK situation, expect pantomime boos everywhere we go this season, if we sign Harry….expect Adebayor levels of vitriol (go on then show the vid)
I’m not expecting us to pull up any trees early doors so a retreat to last season’s attritional winter performances will do
 
for me itwas a no win game for city ? we win it and its well £100million player sat on the bench plus multi millions sat watching after euros. the money city spend you should be winning today will be the media cry . but i laughed my bollocks off at the ITV panel clueless fuckers ?

fitness wise we are miles away and players will have to come in cold ? its not a good thing with city and our style of play and like today one sloppy moment cost you the goal. its more mental sharpness than body fitness and today ake turns off and a stone wall pen

pep will back the players to the end. he will be saying all the right things and knows 5 players that was missing are the cream of this team

can we get kane in next week would be my question ? even if he has to miss out playing for city vs spurs
just getting a striker to take control of the front line is so clearly missing from this squad. its like having a best/biggest guns in the world but using rubber bullets

I sort of agree, but in places like Spain and Italy where they care more about it this game is played during the football season rather than in preseason when most of the better players have been away on international duty.

The team put out doesn’t represent what our team will be in meaningful matches

Never been to a charity shield game as it’s a glorified friendly

Fair play to you and others who spent their hard earned money going

But my point is that is not a team we will see regularly

It's not the depth that was the issue it was match sharpness and same players playing the few pre-seaon games, creating the obvious leginess.
