I hope you’re right.

But we don’t tend to operate like changing our entire summer transfer plans at the drop of a hat, either.

Last summer felt like a well orchestrated, planned strategy to get Messi.

This summer feels like we’ve been planning for Grealish and Kane for months and the Messi situation has caught us a bit off guard.

Signing Messi this summer would seem way more reactionary than last summer. But I sincerely hope we still do.
