City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

The club has a real issue that the general public think we are breaking FFP every year and UEFA are simply sued into submission or bribed to allow it.

I would guess 90% of general football fans don't know the CAS case was about 2014 and not a current issue.

If Pep's going to continue speaking about this, and he inevitably will because he'll get asked about it, he needs to keep reiterating that we've not failed FFP since 2013. If people aren't happy with that, go to UEFA to change the rules, not us.

Funny how net spend is only a thing when it's the established clubs spending massive money. I wonder if Solskjaer was asked about his spending in the press conference given that they've spent more than us and sold nobody.

United make their own money, it doesn't matter how much they spend.

That is the mentality that exists in the press and the public.

I agree. The recent Sunday snail article was referring to 2011. Yes really before Ffp came out.

Yes but at least he had a go back. We cant expect Pep to always have to front it out.
I’m not advocating the club goes to war with the media but they could easily get one or two friends of ours to do interviews pointing out truths like you have.

True but pep has got to keep reiterating that we make our own money through having a successful team. The club need to keep defending and fighting this issue until the media come to the realisation that nobody cares and it’s not worth printing. Until then Pep is and has been doing a fantastic job. He has brought a credibility that will help us long into the future.

This is why I like Pep more than the football. He makes the odd mistake but blimey I hope he is our manager forever
Yeah which is why when I see people talk about how he doesn't get the club because he lost some derby matches I become so irritated.

The guy stood up for us the entire time during the FFP stuff (and as seen by the Super League stuff, he didn't have to) and to top it off gave a great fuck you speech after the CAS results came out.

Not only do they make their own money, but they’ve built it up from the equivalent of a corner shop with decades of hard graft and were formed as a football club 500 years before City…

Must be embargo bit, broke at 10.30. Pep coming out swinging.

Wasn't this in response to a snide comment by klopp who has obviously decided to get his excuses in early this season in case they don't make top 4?
Pretty sure this will have been scripted by the club as pep doesn't tend to shoot his mouth off.

Not sure why were not spending our “earned” money now all those sad farts who say that the money spent in the 90’s was “earned” (what about the millions wasted in the 80s)

He notices the hard work the club puts in from top to bottom everyday and yet daily he has to read shite about the clubs spending which they just try and dismiss what we've achieved since he's been here.

Don't blame him for coming out fighting, I'd be pissed too

The nonsense obviously annoys Pep. Wish it would annoy the club to action.
Nothing to stop City fans from acting

The Guardian hosts football discussions. Its message boards are full of discussion trolling Manchester City. It is counter-productive to argue as that just generates revenue for them but if you report those comments that break their community guidelines then they are forced to address or review them and doing so will carry an administrative cost.

See this example. Rather than respond and generate more income and discussion, report the comment anonymously.
