Still early days for the squad,
I think Torres had a great Euros, looked sharp, front 3 will cause problems, Dias had a hit and miss Euros, but he will hopefully get back into the City groove today, we've seen Ake's lack of sharpness already, he'll not want to be caught out again!
Cancelo and Mendy will be fresh and full of running
Grealish will wan't to impress on his full debut, linking up with Sterling for City will cause problems for Spurs.
As long as Dias gets hold of this defence, I'm hopeful we can turn Spurs over

We beat Nuno's Wolves 3-1 with Mendy and Aké starting last seasons first game.

We also played two defensive midfielders along with KDB,Foden and Jesus.

Some people should remember we're Champions.

It's not our strongest 11 but should still be more than enough.

I'm not sure we have a single 'strongest' team. I see it more as horses for courses.

That team 'should' be enough to deal with Spurs, but without kicking a ball in anger yet in the league it's hard to tell.

It may be that Pep is getting Ake up to match fitness because Laporte is on his way. I hope he isn't going anywhere though.

I'm also optimistic on Mendy having a good game but it depends on him staying focused and not being caught out of place, like he has been so often.

Ake has a good head on his shoulders barring last weeks fuck up and with Benny next to him will look twice the player

His football intelligence is what worries me. Ake makes me nervous that a mistake is never far away. Same with Mendy. Both need to keep it simple and stay switched on.
