Norwich (H) | Post-Match Thread

Much much better then last weekend.

Looked fitter, sharper and more authoritarian.

Grealish settling in and linking up nicely. I like how he often roams into midfield from wide. He's going to be really hard for the opposition to pick up. Showed good confidence today and no signs of being one of these who needs a season to get their heads round being at City.

Norwich are absolutely bobbins and will go down.

I do like Cantwell though. Cracking little player who needs better players around him.

Season started today

City brilliant, a reminder that 1 or 2 mentioned as being flogged off are not for sale.

Disallowed goal, wtf. Sorry for Torres as a great goal.

Norwich, bet they hold English mustard in their mouths longer than they had the ball today, shite
Even the Ref felt sorry for them by not booking any although I can't be certain as a yellow wouldn't have been visible against those shirts.

Funniest site of the day for me, a bloke wearing a T-shirt "football is for the fans"
leaving early :-)

Cracked me up anyway,

Norwich we’re shite , anybody reading anything into today needs serious help
Jesus fucking wept. We can only beat what’s in front of us and we did that impressively and emphatically today. Enjoy it and stop being so pessimistic and miserable for gods sake.

Best thing about Grealish and why I think he will be a good acquisition is, he rarely loses the ball. He looks like he’s running into a cul de sac sometimes but invariably retains the ball or finds a pass or draws a foul.
Doesn’t get turned over very much.

Having worked today, and thanks to the farces at both the Blue Car Parks and the ticket scanning, we finally got to our seats at about 18 minutes into the game. We heard the cheers for the first goal on the way over to Entrance X, and the for the second - or so we thought - while waiting for the lift, which was also farcical, as it was the only one working.

However, once we’d finally made it up to 328, it was immediately obvious that Gabriel was terrorising the Norwich left-back. I thought he was excellent, as were most of them, though Jack and Aymeric stood out especially.

It was great to see more of the squad getting minutes in their legs, and it was particularly pleasing to witness Cole Palmer make his PL debut. As with Phil Foden before him, he didn’t look out of place among our high quality internationals and it was easy to see why the club has invested so heavily in his future.

We will face tougher opponents this season, but it was a very good pick-me-up after last week’s shitshow.

It was never meant to be a slight on the team, but Norwich were a shambles . Just an observation, if you believe that was a barometer for the season then that’s your choice

Superb team performance with lovely passing and movement. Gabby gave Pep a timely reminder of his quality - mesmerising. Walker ran like a man half his age and are him n Riyad brothers from another mother.

For chaps supposedly wanting away Gabby Bernie and Eric were brill. Jackie is getting better each game and will be adored by all.

Thought Norwich went to ground very easily. Ref was utter bobbins.

37 points from safety!
A stroll in the park - I can see the Canaries going straight back to the Championship. 8 goals conceded already, albeit to the Champions and the Dippers, but they looked out of their depth. A pity we didn't have a striker out there, but I'll settle for 5-0.
The refereeing standards have been maintained from last season - at least for us - we obviously have a higher bar to clear before the opposition are penalised for offences that merely elicit a shake of the head by the referee when they occur, and it appears that a foul is automatically given when an opposition player falls over. I still can't believe the disallowed goal when VAR kindly allowed the crowd to see the "foul" by Bernard O'Silva that led to it's refusal.
Jesus MotM by a street.
