Harry Kane

Fernandes at 18 isn’t thr same as Kane 10. That’s his number, he doesn’t have to be this ridiculous “CR7”. The real Ronaldo, we know his number, Totti, we know his number, Maldini, we know his number. They don’t need to have the number in their name, it’s synonymous to them. It’s the same with Kane now at 28 years old, it isn’t good for the Kane brand to be Kane 18
Hardly the same is it.

CR7 is a legit brand. Brazilian Ronaldo is known for 9 because of the Brazil shirt and Totti and Maldini only played for 1 club.

He doesn't have a global brand of Kane10 right now.

Bale is no doubt a bigger 'brand' than Kane. What number is synonymous with him? 3, 9 or 11?

Do you think he does want to waste his career?

how about the scenario where the Kane camp gets more money, AND he signs for city?

I’m sure your posting your info in good faith but it’s miles off. Kane has been desperate to leave. He’s one of the best players in the world and it’s clear that trophies and scoring goals are his motivation. He risks finishing his career at spurs with nothing to show for it.

Kane will clearly get more money than he does at spurs by moving to City. He doesn’t even wear number 10 for England. I’m sure the people around him want to make money from this and his brother is an air head but there is absolutely zero chance Harry Kane let’s this move slip because of the nonsense you’ve mentioned. The only obstacle, and right now it looks like a fucking big one is wether City can agree a fee with Spurs.

What he they could have that, AND MORE upfront?
new firm, new negotiatation over X,Y,Z. Im not too worried tbh.

Marketing & PR massive part of things nowadays, dont think it'll be enough for Kane to walk at this point.

why would he tell them to forget it when it means more money for him/them? he’s paying them to get the best deal possible and that’s what they’re doing. it won’t stop the transfer happening. it’s called negotiating for a reason.

Maybe to get the move! yep it’s always about money!

The guy wants trophies, that's why he wants to come here, and sharpish before Pep goes.

He stays at Spurs then he stays with a manager who will win fuck all and a chairman who just wants to be remembered for building a stadium (fucking nice one at that) and getting the NFL to play there. He loves the kudos of being the chairman, he's the man, the big cheese, the head honcho (robbed from airplane)..... it's all about him.

So, it's down to Kane. He can be the next le Tissier, be a legend at one club. No trophies. Or he can be a club legend at Spurs and City but also have a fucking great chance of winning trophies as well.

Oh, he doesn't need a certain number either because at some point he'll be playing left back, then left midfield, false 9....etc etc etc ....

So if all is good and both parties are happy to agree to the new terms, there's still the matter of agreeing a fee with Spurs. Have you had any word on City's confidence of striking the deal mate?
Like I said in my post bud, city haven’t engaged with Spurs further, there’s no point until they know Kane is happy. The whole Levy isn’t picking up the phone is bollocks, we haven’t called

Update: (my words these, so I’m paraphrasing….. remember this!)

City went back to Kane late Friday night with a revised proposal, based on a potential loss of longer term earnings from image rights (the whole not being number 10 thing). We will know tomorrow if he’s happy, but there will be no counter offer.

We haven’t tried to speak to Spurs directly for a week now, because of the unrest in the Kane camp.

If Kane is happy with the new proposal, we will speak to Spurs. If he’s not, we will pull the plug.

Its D-Day (metaphorically speaking).
So his image rights might have been holding the transfer up ?

I am sure you are posting in good faith but if you are saying we delayed negotiations with levy because we are sorting this "number mess" with kane , that doesn't sound to me like a player who is desperate for a move to save his career. Especially when we are so close to the end of transfer window.

Most people expected the 10 would be reserve for Kane. I think everyone was surprised when Grealish was announced and he took number 10. The Kane camp probably thought it was a given and never thought otherwise.

We know for a fact that Grealish did not ask to be #10. He didn't even know he'd be #10 until he walked into the dressing room on his first day.

If we gave Grealish the biggest shirt number in football, completely unprompted by him, and it's now having any impact on the Kane deal, then whoever made that call fucked up big time.
In his interview with Joleon, Jack stated that he asked for it, didn’t expect to get it and was delighted when he got it.

We as a club don’t make many mistakes, it would be out of character to make a balls-up of this.
