Harry Kane

Why is it good business keeping 2 players that want to leave and by keeping them we will most like miss out on our much needed top target. It’s bad business if you ask me more so with silva than Laporte as we have loads of players to fill in for silva
Watching Saturdays game should give you the answer to that. From what I saw the Way these guys played, didn’t look that way to me.....

A
Maybe but who is in charge here seems Kane could tell them to forget it but if all this is true he is just letting them get on with it! Players hey can’t control there own destiny!
After signing a 6 year deal with a gentleman’s agreement it’s probably best Kane never has anything to do with any deal ever again

From City's perspective if they genuinely would not entertain going for Haaland next summer they need to do everything to buy Kane now.

Imagine we waited till next summer and Mbappe has gone on a free to Real and someone has bought Haaland for 75m and we're doing a deal for 120m for Kane again. We'd all be fuming.

Options will be more limited next summer too as Vlahovic will likely be at Atletico and Lewandowski and Ronaldo would be non starters with their ages. City will want to avoid that striker circus next year and the pressure of having to sign Haaland with the salary demands that would come so can see them really pushing this through this week.

Just because they play well doesn’t mean they want to leave. By all accounts Kane played well the few minutes he was on

I just do not agree with that at all. The most marketable player is the one who'll sell the most shirts regardless of number. If I had to guess, worldwide, City probably sell more shirts with Mahrez on the back than anyone except De Bruyne.
What number is Debruyne again? Is it 34 or something. My point is who cares? But who knows what these commercially obsessed PR people haggle over

My worry is if we don’t get a striker in the next week is next summer we will need a striker a DM and a LB A lot of money to be laid out next summer

Do you ever say anything positive ?

I'm 29 pages behind, but just reading the @mattyb stuff about the shirt number, now I'm no itk, but imo we've already agreed a deal for kane , and imo if he then asked for more 6 months down the road city would not carry on with the deal, imo it didn't happen, and it wouldn't happen, I seem to remember mattyb haven't a ding dong about the number the other day (could be wrong)

I don't believe it for 1 second that we would stand for this nonsense ,

Who are you selling either of these to?
Or shall we just give them away
Levy is maximising his asset values and we should be no different

search @mattyb from last night

Giving it all equal benefit of believability then, to summarise, up until last night, Kane was desperate to come here. He was patiently waiting having gone on strike, been extra careful with covid isolation guidance from 2 months ago, faked fitness concerns to avoid playing for spurs, and was worried enough about his dream move collapsing to have his entourage go to the papers with background moans about levy's broken promises. We had our man and wouldn't leave him hanging for anyone including messi, and all that was left was to agree a fee with Spurs. One where we are anywhere between £30-50m apart, and Levy isn't even answerimg our calls.

Now we can't even try get Spurs to the table, as we are waiting on Kane, who has decided to fish for more money while worried over his move because of a number given to someone else 3.5 weeks ago, to accept our increased counter-offer before trying to bridge the huge gap with Spurs. All in the last week of the window. While not looking at any alternatives.

Although the above might sound sarcastic @mattyb, it is not intended as a facetious abstraction of the claim you made btw, just highlighting how absurd the combined picture of all put together looks. I'm sure you have shared what you took to have heard in good faith and all, makes for a well interesting final week all this then.

I think Matty said we had told Kane he would be given the shirt, only for us to later give it Grealish

It's bad business to let our good players go for peanuts as well. Any club who wants to take them should pay the correct Market value. £60M for laporte and £45M for Bernardo (if true) is ridiculous

That’s the problem we can’t sell them we are trying do if you believe the reports and the ITK’s. I agree with you we should try get the most we can for them.
