Would agree it’s unlikely we will see Messi & Ronaldo on the same club team but I don’t think it’s because they dislike each other & more to do with their respective PR teams not being able to share the limelight for their asset. Messi & Ronaldo are huge individual global brands & one would take more of the spotlight than the other which is not in their brand’s best interests.

Quite a few ‘personal’ documentaries highlight their mutual respect for each other & Ronaldo especially goes onto admit Messi drives him to keep on competing. Furthermore there was a clip of Ronaldo’s kid in awe of meeting Messi at a Ballon d’or event & got the impression it wasn’t the first time they have got together.

Like most Blues I’ve disliked Ronaldo mainly because of him wearing the red shirt & his cockiness on the field.

However, I can’t fault the bloke for being a proper player & still banging the goals in wherever he goes. Off the field he’s just a machine in keeping himself in shape & being a professional compared to some Blues who have worn the shirt. Also his upbringing is similar to Messi in being pretty tough where he was from a poor family, alcoholic dad who passed away early on his life & at some point his mum stating she wished he wasn’t born. Got to give him some credit in getting through that & having the same drive & determination to win in his twilight years as his childhood.

it's an insanely weird window but will turn out an absolutely amazing one if we can nab this ****.

It's such a better option than kane if you ask me, because it gives us the flexibility to dive again to the ST market in 1 to 2 years, we are not tied down to the 150m or so you'd have to pay for kane.
