I think it would be a good deal if we are within 80-90m including wages. 40m/year for a striker who can bring in 40 goals in our team seems reasonable tbh. Not to mention the commercial aspect + piss from the united fans etc..
 
Obviously Ronaldo has been a phenomenal player but I think he works best working off another quality forward. That was one of the issues from what I saw of Juventus in the champions league, he's their focal point they look for at earlist opportunity making him easier to mark. Leading our line at 36 is a big ask. Seems clear we want someone very dangerous attacking crosses, teams couldn't afford to sit so deep leaving the flanks free with the quality of delivery from Mahrez, Cancelo, Phoden and KDB etc. Thinking about it this signing would fit being "disruptive" from the Chairman's comments more than Grealish or Kane.

Pretty much where I am. Upsets all the right people and when you look beyond the preening and past associations he is still a world class footballer.
The key is were not desperate like with Kanchelskis or even looking to lay a marker down like Tevez. On the face of it he needs us more than we need him so what will be will be.
 
For me it's a yes because I couldn't think of a better stop gap until we find another striker based on being at this point of his career. Haaland won't happen.. but the next couple of seasons I'm sure we will find another young target coming through the ranks maybe delap can alternate before ronaldo leaves to use him as a mentor. The service he will get here will be phenomenal and he will knock goals in week in week out.

He probably still has some friends there too but I don't think he holds any loyalty to them. Look at his goal for Juve vs United, full celebration not a hint of "respect".
 
I think we're putting out that we're not willing to pay a fee because we think we can get for free. Juve's financials aren't looking good. He is on huge wages. Ronaldo has apparently asked to leave and the manager wants to rebuild without him. Their competition has collapsed, so they don't even need him to win the Scudetto.
