It would be nice to have a striker who can score headers, when you consider the amount of crosses we fire in to either nobody or a 5'7 midfielder.

Alex stepney never played for city. Was goalkeeper coach but never played
 
To be fair it's not very often you see us just lob aimless crosses in compared to a lot of teams, but yes I agree he brings something different to a game and can be a defenders nightmare when he gets the right service

If he comes, you gotta remember he really wants to then as he will have to dramatically reduce his wages. I see that as commitment, besides that he also has a elite mentality think he'd be great

We do it whenever we fail to break teams down. Last 20 minutes of games like at Spurs last week we put loads of aimless crosses in. Basically the last 20 minutes of games we lose it happens. So most times against the shit these days. Pointless with our usual forward line but wouldn’t be if Ronaldo is in the box.
 
He would score goals for us, but so would younger 'lesser' players due to the possession we have and the chances we get. He is clinical though and is a top professional.

However, the age thing... Yes he looks after himself, but if Pep didn't like how Aguero was defensively then he'd hate Ronaldo. He saves himself for when his team have the ball.

These were from a year ago. He's not going to have got any younger or fitter since then...

A few folks have alluded to the fact Ronaldo will want the number 7. His branding is heavily linked to this, I used to work in the advertising for Nike and all the artwork and boots are plastered with CR7 so they will want the number.

I genuinely think this could cause an issue which sounds crazy.

In fairness the question was on principle, rather than minute technicality differences between Messi and Ronaldo, which I wouldn't deny. The principle is the same, old veteran world class player with a couple years left at top level, big persona and ego, big wages, big pr draw, established elsewhere, will affect games in a big way and improve the team. A year here and there, 10k here and there in wages, precieved likeability (plenty dislike messi), potato-potaato. If you are saying the move of that magnitude itself isn't something you want to see at the club, I can get that. But being ok with the same move for one player over the other, I can't.



Agree on the second part btw.

Messi wouldn’t have pressed and also saved himself as well. I think Pep will be able to adjust to him just fine. Don’t worry. We’ve got the goat manager.

If report are true he , Ronaldo really wants this move, surprising with his age, rag history, Pep and the demans of this team and league at 36.

IF he also is happy to not play in the No7 shirt, it would be hugely encouraging.

I have no issue with him as an athlete at all, and I think the positives out-way the negatives by some distance but I don't think he will reduce his financials
