Garth Crooks' Team of the Week

just heard that ronaldo is in the team of the week for that great bit of work in the transfer market

He is at it again!
Has Gundog, Jesus and Torres in his side.
Jesus and Gundog have 3 paragraphs each - 2 of which discuss Arsenal's woes..... and he has two sly digs that we haven't won the champions league yet.....

The only reason this fool got a job at the BBC originally was because of something that is no longer acceptable to talk about.

The fact regardless is this man is an ignorant, repulsive, individualy who is stealing a living at the tax payers great expense.

Shameful but totally unsurprising from the once great BBC.

What the fuck is he going on about with Jesus?! Guardiola needs to stop messing striker about or we will never win the CL?! We were incredible last season in the CL without a striker and that wasn't the reason we lost the final.

Someone needs to retire the fucker.

He's a bloated, ugly, ****.

He had to have 3 in, because it was the best performance of the weekend, but no praise for any of them.

Even has Pogba in it, presumably because his red card tackle, which he defended, won them the game, thanks to Dean and Pigmol.

He's somehow managed to shoehorn Paul Pogba into his team, on the basis that Mike Dean and VAR failed to spot an obvious foul in the build up to United's goal. (Much more of a foul than the Bernardo one they used to cancel one of our goals).

He puts the blame on Neves for that foul not being given, rather than the incompetence of the officials, or just blatant cheating.

So, on what basis does Pogba qualify as one of the top 11 performers this week? According to Garth,

"Did you know? Pogba attempted (75) and completed (65) more passes against Wolves than any other United player, while also making three interceptions."

That's not really true Garth, and doesn't tell the complete story. According to whoscored.com, Pogba attempted 77 passes against Wolves. This was 65 more than Dan James, who managed an impressive 12 passes (7 completed) before being hooked. So it is 65 more passes than just one more United starter. It looks like Garth has conveniently dropped a separator after (65) in his sentence to make the statistic look better than it is. Also, Fred completed 65 passes, so Pogba didn't completed more than all his colleagues.

A more accurate description of Pogba's passing game against Wolves would have said this:

"Did you know? Pogba attempted 77 passes, completing 65 - the eighth best percentage completion rate of all the United starting eleven. Only Dan James and Bruno Fernandes had a worse pass completion rate."

Whoscored.com also gave a pretty accurate description of their strengths.

I wonder if the BBC know he's moonlighting, making adverts with 2 friends.
