Afghanistan

Nah, laughing is the only sane response.

We divert resources in a war zone to transport 200 dogs and cats to the UK where the rules state they have to be vaxxed, blood tested and quarantined and while we are doing this we are putting down healthy dogs and cats in the next building by the shed load.

I mean, good luck to animals in question if they get to buck the system, but the whole affair is fucking lunacy.
What resources were diverted ? Strange hill you are badly dying on

The holidaying Raab is unfit to run a tap never mind one of the great offices of state - this is how they have run down and diminished our poition in the world

A CHILD has been killed after Kabul was rocked by an explosion just hours after the UK's final flight left Afghanistan.

The blast erupted when a rocket hit a residential neighbourhood near the airport where desperate people are trying to flee the Taliban

It is an either/or situation. Every minute, every resource to save or expedite an animal in a fast moving and chaotic situation like this, is time and resource not used to save or expedite a person.

The animals got more priority than the staff looking after them.
When you understand the resource but fail to fund it, that’s the key.

There will be no shortage of US military satellites and reconnaissance flights focussed on Afghanistan as well as assets on the ground that have been cultivated over the last 20 years.
I expect a lot of the Taliban leadership might have tragic accidents over the next few years.

The only good thing today was, we packed up and got to go out before the Americans

There have been suggestions that Brits were not happy with US unilateral decisions/actions in Afghanistan and were happy to see them get egg on their faces in the manner they did in recent weeks. Further, they want to be involved in post war Afghanistan and have maintained contacts with Taliban for sometime. If you listen to the British Army's Chief recent interviews, he is quiet willing to give Taliban a chance and rightly so.

If the west abondons Afghanistan like it did in the 90's when soviet union fell, they will loose whatever they gained in last 20 years, there will be a massive humantarian crisis, economy will totally shatter and terrorism risk wouldnt diminish. China and Russia would gain a foot hold in Afghanistan as both countries have shown willingness to work with Taliban government.
