The taxation of AI will help pay for a UBI along with the abolishment of all other welfare initiatives, the recoup of tax through consumer spending etc. Food banks would disappear overnight. UBI's are all about lifting the poorest out of poverty, those wanting to work still could add to their income.

And thus keep the poorest in the same poverty as before.
Retail prices will be based on affordability for those working not those on UBI.
Rather like the way house prices rocketed in the UK when building societies changed the rules to allow two wage earners to be considered for loans in the mid 70s.

Nonsense. Some people can't envisaged change. The amount of people cutting down on hrs and the amount of jobs available would avoid that. Most people would rather lose 20 hrs than just treating it as an add on. The old "if everyone is a millionaire then a mars bar would cost £80.000" is 70s/80s horseshit.
