Saw Boey there too.Slane had some great shows over the years.
The Glass Spider tour.
The lighting of the stage show kinda lost it’s impact in the Summer sunshine.

Didn't LCD Soundsystem have a line in one of their songs about everyone assuming they were from England? All fair points on hip-hop.
I was going to mention country, blues and electronic/house/dance music too but hip-hop is where the gap seemed most appropriate.
Re dance/electronic — let’s first note that New Order — my absolute number one favo(u)rite band of all time — evolved after visiting New York and hearing club music. But you’re right that the greats of the genre are largely English (except Kraftwerk). I will say I thought LCD Soundsystem (from Brooklyn) had the chops to be titanic, but James Murphy got bored, I guess. He’s detached and sardonic and funny enough to be Mancunian!! Sound of Silver is a great, great record IMO.
All good choices and I would add Metallica to that list as well as the Flaming Lips. The Doors
Steely Dan
Lynyrd Skynyrd
The Allman Brothers
Talking Heads
Blondie
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
