Who will be our main rivals this season?

Liverpool and United haven't really played anybody of note yet, so I don't even factor them as contenders.

I fear it too but I didn't understand the point about excuses? What excuses have been given? City were tired after the Leipzig game and they were way off the pace and completely outfought in midfield. KDB could not even manage to play an intense 30 minutes.

We should have replaced Fernandinho in the window. Our execs messed up and now we're going to find it very difficult to compete with Chelsea

Did you see that depth against Southampton? It's complete nonsense. Our squad has depth on the flanks but we don't have an experienced specialist centre-forward and we have a 36 year old defensive midfielder. Our squad was unbalanced, more so by a farcical transfer window.

We also have players with questionable fitness. KDB should be a jewel but hit fitness is a massive concern. This for some reason is being ignored but he is well below what he is capable of. How KDB recovers, and Foden's role in the side, will decide the outcome of our season. Those two players have peaks which are extraordinarily high. Can they both recover from pre-season injury and how long will it take. Those are the key questions.

That's how I see it too. It was always going to be a difficult job winning a 4th title in 5 seasons because they demands take their toll on the players. We look like Liverpool last season. Patched up and wounded. I think pep knows this hence his comment to the fans which some misinterpreted and the media wilfully turned against us.

We can still challenge for trophies but that Chelsea side looks like it could get close to 100 points. I see them winning game after game.
 
To early to say so far, but we can't be as lapse this season as last season. We need to pick ourselves up quickly and move forward as a team collectively.

Can't help but think the lack of pace in DM and the lack of competition in LB and CF will bite us hard, showing a lapse of ambition and basic football knowledge by the board. We have the best coach in the world and the board need to keep up or risk Pep or the players becoming despondent.

When Pep mentioned the crowd to get the players up for it, I felt then he'd give the team an excuse to under perform. It was an unusual request that bit us on the arse, but I'm not pissed with Pep, the guys a genius and needs the board backing.

Come February we'll know more.

I don't blame them for not getting Kane. I think it would have been high risk to spend £150m on a player his age but it was like he was the only footballer on the market. Saint Maximin and Bissouma would have been better or something like that. Perhaps we have something in mind for midfield.

Agree whole heartedly.

When you have set your sights on one player who is basically untouchable because of the psuedomyth of Mr Levy, then it's poor. They've had one year to find decent competition for Jesus. It's just basic!

We have the world at our feet and have a moment to push on to something special, yet the very same board who work tirelessly to bring us this opportunity have been naive and caught sleeping.

It just basics!!

When Pep came out and said the team needed the crowd, it was the wrong message to send to the team. It shouldn't be and I don't blame him.
