Declining vaccine efficacy is a thing. This means over 70s and the Immune compromised definately need a top up within 6 months of their last jab. There is some benefit to people over 50.
Everyone else... Not of much benefit.

Thanks, Had a hectic day so no chance to read up.

Greater Manchester and North West higlights

Sadly little Good News Here. And another bad day for Stockport. Worst yet in fact.

Though GM less bad versus the NW. Still not a good day,

Surely the media are going to discover this 10 day old problem in Stockport and comment at some point?

They ignored Bolton for this long in April and by then it took weeks to stop the snowball rolling.

NW up 564 on day to 3702. GM up just 109 of that to 1206.

Which is actually a low split as happily most of GM not doing as badly as Stockport.

However, Week to week NW is up 341 from 3361 last Monday.

But GM is up by 195 from 1011 to 1206 - which unfortunately is well over par.

So GM did not have a good day today. Hope for better tomorrow.

Stockport on 196 - highest in weeks here, up the most week to week of all boroughs and beat Manchester by 35 for top score as the city is again down week to week, Though only just today by 3 on 169.

Most GM boroughs up week to week but by less than Stockport's 44. Trafford up by 40 next nearest but still had a much lower Pop Score rise to now go 26 ahead of Stockport for lowest in GM,.

Rochdale had the best day - down to just 46 which is 2 lower than last week.

Bury and Oldham were the only other two sub 100 cases today and both were up week to week.

What is the significance of being aged 50?

ENGLAND HOSPITAL DATA

ADMISSIONS - THESE ARE FROM THURSDAY, FRIDAY & SATURDAY REMEMBER (48 hours old)

LAST SAT // THIS THURSDAY/FRIDAY/SATURDAY

649 // 672// 540 // 560

So DOWN nearly 89 week to week SAT TO SAT.

And nearly 200 across the past two weeks. VERY promising,

By regions (LAST SATURDAY V THIS THURSDAY/FRIDAY/SATURDAY) :-

LONDON 109 V 103 / 76 / 78 - very big falls here

MIDLANDS 123 V 138 / 112 / 102 - more steady falls

NE & YORKSHIRE 148 V 142 / 120 / 132 - Yorkshire also but less so

AND

NORTH WEST 94 V 96 / 82 / 91

So NW lowest numbers but only down 3 week to week and London outpaced it to do much better wk to wk

Still the overall fall of admissions is the opposite of what most were expecting to see in the past week
