Looked very comfortable last night, reminded me of Jordi Alba the way he was bombing on and looking so composed in the final third.

Hopefully there's a chance to get him involved in an 'easier' league game and continue to start him in the cups.

Possibly not the best of our current academy players but the key point is he is a natural LB and I have been banging on about this for ages. Its been an issue for us for most of the time I have been watching city - arguably the most specialist outfield position given you need to be left footed, quick and able to defend. This should be a top priority for our youth set up.

This lad looks the part. Positionally he clearly wants to get forward and join in and he looked quick enough last night. He's got to be worth a run of games to see how he fits in. And its also worth saying it would be madness if they didn't sort out a new contract given the opportunity he has.
 
Deserves a chance, its poor from the club if he doesn’t get that. He will sink or swim. Might save us 50 mill next season.

Biggest thing is that he has a good physique and is not tiny like many of our previous full backs from the academy.
 
I like to keep an eye on the youth team players when possible and watched him live in a youth cup game before his injury. You could tell he is a very nice footballer on the ball but my only worry is that he tended to run alongside the winger he was against giving him a bit of an escort. Might be a generational thing but didn't really hit the tackles. Not a major gripe as easily fixed not something you have to be born with but hoping he has worked on this part of his game.
 
The stars or in Mendy’s case bars could be aligning for him.

With everyone fit he is surely already 3rd choice and with injuries, resting and Cancelo often doing right back duties he could see a fair bit of game time. Same could be said for CJ Egan Riley with only Walker and Cancelo as current right backs.

I guess it depends whether Pep will still use Ake or Laporte at left back before Wilson Esbrand.
