Thanks Pep for calling out the ref (and Liverpool fans)

My opinion is that Liverpool FC are going to deny that anything happened.

“Liverpool say they have substantial evidence relating to Manchester City's claim that a supporter spat at a member of staff, and it could be passed on to police.”

They could show lots of footage of City’s staff not being spat on.

I can’t see LFC going out of their way to prove something that shows them or their fans in a negative way.
Maybe the suspect is a little closer to L.F.C. than just a fan.

Tierney was obviously a blind **** but that other little prick on the sidelines has clearly got on the headset to him and said, Pep is being mean to me. Please give him a yellow card. Fucking pussy.
You can see Dean mouth,”yellow card” to the cheat in the footage a few minutes later.

It was very noticeable how the commentators sucked air through their teeth, followed by that distinctive ‘Ooooooohhhhhh’ before saying that the player, on each occasion, was in trouble, only to then be surprised that nothing was given. Reactions like that tell you all you need to know.

Tierney actually had to make the harder decision not to give either of the Milner challenges as he had to make them against his conscience, meaning he had to dismiss what he seen and choose to not uphold the rules that we have all played by.

True but we are talking about a place where “people” use police vans as platforms to attack opposition team coaches. I’ve met loads of good Scousers but when it comes to Liverpool FC, the usual rules around justice and level playing fields seem to go out of the window.

Queue Worsley telling us about being dumped in the Mersey by local gangsters!

Because that was a straight red/penalty - the things that can be reviewed by VAR are specified, and both of those are reviewable.

A single yellow card cannot be reviewed, unless it has something else going for it.
Mistaken identity.

It's a duff argument anyway. You'd have to say he gave the foul against Henderson, but didn't think it was SPA "Stopping a promising attack" so didn't issue a card, but that means he should have played advantage for that foul and then given the one by Milner and issused a card for that. Whatever he decided, it was a poor bit of refereeing.

And for the record, VAR reviews decisions by the referee - including a decision not to give a FK. It's part of the VAR "law" - it's always the referee who gives decisions, so even a decision not to make a decision is a decision.
