a lot of folk on here wishing these lot well. probably looking for a bit of solidarity with all the negativity from the media. however, there is a possibility at some point they will come in for one of our guys.

wish them well, by all means; but keep a close eye on those bastards taking our assets.
The only ones who would go there from us would be those looking for one last pay day. Not a chance they will be challenging us for honours any time soon. We are far too well established now for them to be of any concern.

That's football for you. We've done it to other teams so can't exactly complain if it happens to us.

FWIW, I don't think we'll see any hostile bids for our best players - they will be more of an ally than an enemy - but if any of our players are unhappy we could well do some decent business that suits both parties

They will most likely become a rival of ours and we will have to compete with them both on the pitch and on the transfer market. It all depends how well they will be managed , however. Just throwing money on the table is not enough at this point, look at Manure's 1b worth squad that is unable to win trophies still.

Its an interesting situation, because they still have their shit squad till January. so they could be in or around the relegation zone come the January window, which could give a lot of players some pause. I dont think the project can really get going till next season.

Exactly. Which top players would join in January knowing they are in a relegation scrap? I can see them going down.

Good luck to them - I say that with gritted teeth - hopefully this may put an end to the Red Scouse twats resurgence or are they still owed loads from the Coutinho transfer - FSG will be absolutely fuming -

It's the 'We've got our club back'' spiel which is aboard my titties at the moment...you've got your club back? the KSA have bought it with the intent of handing the keys over to the horse punchers?..
Apart from that I say good luck to 'em....may get the monkey off our back for a while..
The good citizens of Hartlepool hung it a few years ago.

So would that be TwitterWashing of which he’s more than happy with?
After all these years it is amazing how gullible people like Delaney are. He still doesn't understand our business model and the reason why the Saudi PIF sees Newcastle as a good investment. This deal is about investing money and making profits just like the one made by Sheikh Mansour for City. Our owner bought City for less than £300m and the club (pre-pandemic) was valued at £2.7bn. He invested another £500m but got all that original money back when he sold a stake to the Chinese and US groups. So he has at least trebled the value of his total investment in City.
As well as this Sheikh Mansour has made around £1bn profit on his property investments in Manchester and a similar amount from his investment in Graphene, developed at Manchester University. He has literally made billions and transformed a significant part of the community in Manchester. And the new Arena is on its way.
Newcastle is a huge investment opportunity. It is a one-club city in a fantastic region with great potential as the UK continues to de-centralise from the overheated London area. Delaney, and those in the press who spout the fake sportswashing narrative, are total morons.

You're giving them far too much credit.

Lots of players would join. Its a project that will have a lot of money pumped into it, as a player you know that you're joining a future Psg or Chelsea type of project (money wise).
Not saying players like Mbappe or Haaland would join them but the likes of Zaha , Kane , Rice so on could actually be interested, in my opinion. They could make a decent squad in jan and be safe of any relegation problems.

I haven't read the whole thread, so apologies if this point has already been made but..

If Newcastle isn't a state-owned entity, then how come the Saudi state has reversed its ban on beIN Sports to enable the deal to go through? While maybe not state-owned by the dictionary definition, they are certainly very closely coupled.

You are right. Some of the press are stupid but others are essentially driven by racism. They have a selective view of the world where anything done by Arabs is seen as somehow devious while western countries can do no wrong. There are at least 20,000 jobs in North West England linked to Saudi investment at BAE. Are we going to turn down that investment? The hypocrisy of the BBC and the tabloid press is pathetic.

Bbc rag tv going full on spot washing racist root I see! BBC ran by rags and scousers! One day maybe there two clubs will also be bought out by similar buyer and how the Narrative will change in a heart beat!
That boat has sailed. Saudis bought toon so they won’t be buying the rags(conflict of interest).

The new owners of the barcodes need to take a leaf out of our book..

Just as we raided the tarquins for Clichy, Nasri, Adebayor, Sagna and Toure, they need to be looking at the dippers for Salah, Mane, Trent Darby, Dick van dyke and the sweaty sock..

Now that would be a proper statement of intent from their owners..!

Do it, you know it makes sense..!
That would be brilliant.

I went on RAWK earlier to see what the sad fucks were saying about this - proper bitter

There was even one fan talking about CITY and Newcastle fans as being 'entitled' - without even a trace of understanding the irony!!!

They desperately go on about 'sports-washing' and big up their owners FSG - and these are the same fans that were ecstatic at the thought of Dubai buying them - such false bastards

I don’t get this thought process. They will be a threat to us just like we have become a threat to United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. The latter currently scrambling around mid table.

Toon takeover will keep us on our toes.No time for resting on our laurels as in time the top 4 will be congested.

The only meaningful change I would like to see is an additional champions league place awarded to England. The premier teams should not be punished for having too many big clubs. It would stop a lot of in fighting and would not compromise competition or the integrity of the league.

Times change and so must the rules imo.
