According to our Rangers supporting hacks, they are legion, Gerrard is a shoein because he brilliantly has won 1 trophy out of the last dozen. Don't get me wrong, every fucking job that comes up they say hes the front runner. If Jesus came back as the true Messiah, these pricks would claim Slippy would take over from him. Cunts.
Slippy eh.

My mate has a geordie mate he went to uni with who slagged off our owners at every opportunity who is now trying to defend this takeover vehemently. You quickly see how fast "morals" fly out the window when money is involved. Same with Shearer who is now looking at a cushy role under the Saudi's.

yep

Shearer was one of the biggest moaners about manchester city money and now its ok
the book of haters will be opened and review by all us city fans when it comes to newcastle games

For those commenting on Amanda Staveley's looks please note.

What kind of disease does Amanda Staveley have?
But behind-the-scenes, Yorkshire-born Staveley, 47, is battling a crippling brain disease that can lead to dementia. She was diagnosed with Huntington's disease in 2013, for which there is no cure.

Helped as much as anybody to save our club and get it in the hands of the Sheikh. She should be welcomed here with open arms.

Not sure whether it has been mentioned but the Football Supporters Association have issued a statement about the takeover. Just the opening blurb is bad with stuff like 'many Supporters throughout the game ....have expressed concern about ther roles of nation states in the ownership of clubs and the impact of their human right violations'.
'Supporters put in an impossible position as billionaire owners pass clubs from one to another.... clubs have become the plaything of individuals or regimes with shocking human rights records'.
No mention of which clubs they mean but we can guess that and also those they have chosen to turn a blind eye with their dodgy owners, sponsors and riotous fans. Do these prats who claim to represent all fans at all levels want to go back to the days when United plus one other club won everything because they were richest and boasted about it?
Just in case anyone missed that the FSA is a bunch of anorak wearing weirdos, they announce this year's football awards by reminding us of last year's winners:

POTY - Ratface - Bruno
Commentator of the Year - Martin Tyler !!!
TV/Radio Pundit of the Year - Ian Wright.

It is concerning that the lies and misinformation pumped out from or via the usual suspects does get believed by neutrals but its never challenged so it would, wouldn't it?
As we all know some clubs dutifully rolled over and had their bellies tickled, accepting the status quo.
We were not one of those clubs!

I misheard the radio news a couple of days ago and just heard: 'Saudi Arabia takeover of garble garble United goes through' and I actually, for a moment, assumed it to be Manchester Utd.

Then I remembered the Saudis had tried to buy into Newcastle awhile ago and it all made sense.

However, I then had this thought: why Newcastle? Why haven't they bought Manchester Utd. I bet they could have offered the Glazers an offer they couldn't refuse and we all have to concede that Man U are the bigger club and consequently it would achieve whatever they want to achieve (sporstwashing, I think its called) more successfully.

Or would Man Utd fans oppose such a deal due to the dodgy human rights issues?
Just a guess that the figure the Glazer's would want for the rags combined with the level of debt that is outstanding would be too high even for the Saudis.

I suppose the other thing is, in Newcastle, there is just one club, in Manchester.... well no need for me to type further! It might be easyier to attract a megastar or two if they are to be the stand-out star in the town rather than rubbing shoulders with DeBryner/Mahrez/Sterling etc.

In 3 or 4 years it may be Us, Chelsea and Newcastle vying for the top 3 in the P/L.

Liverpool have done extremely well but it strikes me that they could lose out to clubs willing to spend more.

United are an ongoing mess. Arsenal aren't willing to spend enough. Tottenham will be there-abouts but I don't think Levy will spend enough for them to win the title.

I've never understood the "the long suffering fantastic fans deserve it" label. Surely ALL loyal fans of all clubs that have won fuck all for a long time are "long suffering fantastic fans"
