Well, you dont know what talks City have had with other parties which came to nothing, and why. We hear only about successful talks.
Nothing wrong re Pep talks nor implied by me.
Well of course not, although I am sure some hack somewhere would have tried to embarrass us if talks with Company X had ended due to something we had done wrong. There has been nothing so you can't say either way but that been said we have signed huge deals with the likes of Nissan etc in the past few years so any prospective company would look at those rather than anything else.

I agree completely. I was merely putting forward what I believe is the other clubs position which is wrong imo.
Fair enough. I also presume that information about the deal would have been share price sensitive so it would have been madness (possibly illegal?) to consult other PL clubs. Did the Glazers consult anyone when they cashed in their MUFC shares last week for £163m as they continued their asset stripping of United? Will they open their Cayman Island accounts to public scrutiny?

Yup. Soriano transformed Barca's commercial income. I trust him in doing the same for us, but I just wish the club would manage our reputation better.

if its in the M.E.N then its not true ? they even in that quote have its manchester united and man city cheeky fuckers

manchester city can not start throwing stones in the glass green house because it will make us look daft
i don't under stand why its news ? the premier league have rubber stamped it and all the clubs must have been involved in the process

i wish newcastle all the best and like Manchester city its a dream and like winning the lotto
but like many that have won the lotto its handling the pressure and money wisely ? because players are greedy fuckers and will say all the right things in getting that contract then down tools and become lazy

manchester city had to learn the hard way and we signed so many players for all the wrong reasons and its took one hell of a job by mancini to worm them out and build a team that could win silverware
Every single headline in that “publicaction“ has us as Man City and them as Manchester, it’s being going on for ages, (every MEN headline on Newsnow) are they trying to justify their link to the City, it’s pathetic, as we don‘ t have to. I have heard rumours that they are trying to move boundaries, now Salford Quays has the Media area, to encompass it as Manchester, which even though $old Trafford is across the river in OT , would be included.

Yeah, what has Roman Abramovich ever done for us?

He stopped the RAGS winning more silverware

Agree re the bollocks of FFP.

Can't see the Saudis steaming in and kicking off over FFP they won't be that daft.

Not sure why you've brought the scousers into the discussion.
There are a few on here who have short memories, I love what has happened to Newcastle, it's what football is all about, I hope it happens to a lot of other clubs.

The "elite" have yet another threat, the more the merrier and it's good for us, competition is king, or Crown Prince in the barcodes case.

The scousers are entitled and victims, don't want to see our fan base becoming the same.

Article on the beeb saying other clubs have complained about the takeover and asking why they had not been kept involved in the process.

No teams named obviously but not hard to imagine which teams banded together to try and stop some healthy competition.

Tossers

As a club since the web address change it’s been Man City big mistake for me we are the only club in Manchester and should tell the media that’s how we want it to be told!

It's not arrogance, City were a threat to Utd, Liverpool and the rest because of our business model, plowing money back in to the club to grow. Now Newcastle will have that same business model and will threaten the same cabal, but that business model doesn't threaten us, it will in time give us a competitor.
If Newcastle become a serious rival to us, which they will in time, yes they are a threat to us but also a threat our club I would hope would relish and enjoy.

A threat on the pitch yes, but in the board rooms Newcastle and City are a threat to the cash cows, the cream skimmers, the water treaders and the bottom feeders.

That's up to the execs and maybe a different argument.

It's very difficult to criticize our owner but I do feel we have allowed the narrative against us as a club go far too far, damaging the clubs reputation and that of the Owners Nation.

Hopefully with Newcastle's new owner the balance of power will change and we may have some major player on our side.

Kompany and Zabba were pre Sheikh Mansour
Santa Cruz is a perfect example of a player signed for the wrong reason
We signed a lot of players on big contracts in the early days of the takeover, we had to to get them to sign in that stage of our development, mistakes were made but we learnt quickly.

Newcastle will do the same but have a great blue print on how to do it properly if they follow our model, which I would expect they will.

There’s a lot of talk about Newcastle signings. In my opinion the most significant thing City did was get Ferran and Txiki in. I have no doubt Newcastle will do well. How quickly depends on the board room appointments. I don’t think you can put in a robust global scouting network overnight.

Just maybe they will fight the farce of FFP, the Saudi's have a different mindset to our owners.

People like these don't get involved with a business without been fully aware of the consequences.

I personally hope they smash FFP out of the ball park, I despise any legislation that stops investment, it's a disgrace.

And having views that oppose that is very scouse like .

Every market needs to be regulated in one way or another. I don't know if FFP was the right or fair way to do that, but the idea that transfer fees and wages can just keep ballooning without measures to control it is just bonkers to me.

What has FFP done to stop this btw?

I dont remember us signing players for the wrong reasons, except maybe Robinho. True, they were some failures in the squad building phase but many successes such as Kompany, Zabba etc.

many like Robinho. Roque Santa Cruz. Jo. Wayne Bridge. Tal Ben Haim. Glauber. Emmanuel Adebayor.
like i said we spent millions on crap and only a few that was value for money

Wages without doubt need addressing as well as agents and their fees.

But honestly, how do you police it?

i say spend whatever your owners want to spend as long as it is person wealth and not loans sold for assets because
its his money and the club value will be fine.. as long as the club is not being used and milked what harm is it doing to football.. does the manchester city owners sheikh mansour and mohammed bin salman ever say we want the money back ? the club is now valued 6 times the buying price back in 2008 and it stands at £2.5billion
