Decent summary here:

Basically Garcia would have been better leaving the ball, which shows what a farce the rule is.

You gotta ask which clowns are deciding these laws and who exactly in this instance and others decides/thinks that Mbappe is not interfering with play. They should be sacked immediately for gross incompetence... Sums them all up

If VAR allows mbappe goal as garcias action is determined as deliberate within exact definition of laws of game shouldnt they by same exact definition of laws of the game disallow it as phase of play started with a French foul throw in?

Basically, Garcia had no choice but to intercept as, in his thoughts, 99 times out of 100 the offside player would’ve been classed as offside as he was interfering with play. In this case they chose to give onside even if it was out with the spirit of the law.

Says it all.

Another point is,

If the goalkeeper picked the ball up in his area from garcia touch would the referee interpret that as deliberate?..

No they wouldn't rule as deliberate pass back but it was passed back....interesting

Just another example of refs having zero game sense nowadays. They try to ref the game like robots to the very letter of the law, so why not just let the entire match be reffed by robots then and cut them out all together. Horseshit.

I think that is a really good comparison. No way would they have deemed that an intentional (or deliberate) back-pass.
