Capable of producing some moments of genuine sparkle and every now-and-then he did just that.

This was in the day of 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw - so parking the bus was the norm for must successful teams playing away from home.

Rodders had that flair and unpredictable element to his game that you often needed in these games.
