Burnley (H) | Post-Match Thread

Can’t believe the bitching & moaning both at the performance & result, that’s 3pts & we move on. This is how we won the league last season, grinding out 1 and 2 nil wins, but this season we’ve started early, have people forgotten the 2 away performances we’ve just had against fellow title contenders & the football we played? I’d make a fortune selling big boy panties on ere
I have no problem at all with the performance, job done, three points, on we go.

What does bug me is watching us play with 9 men when keen young lads are sitting on the bench.

I've no time for wasters and piss takers turning in half arsed performances every time they're given a chance. It's terrible for team morale.

Wasn't the greatest of games but that's usually the way it is after the international break..
Three points is all that matters along with no injuries..we can't be brilliant every game.
Rod and Bernie were excellent..the rest were average or slightly above apart from Stefan who was good.
Raz looks well out of sorts and Mahrez wasn't good either but saying that he could still have scored at least two.
Kev's finish was very good and definitely much needed.
Good start to the weekend especially as the fucking rag scum got tonked.

Good win all things considered with a bit of rotation.

One of Cancelo’s frustrating performances - did so many good things going forward first half but slack defensively and sloppy second half.

Rodders and Bernie very good again.

Thought Raheem was a touch better out wide second half but he needs to up his tempo in my opinion, his pace and directness are two of his biggest assets and he again only showed glimpses.

One thing I’ll say about Mahrez, his touch is still sensational but today he kept hold of the ball too long and chose the wrong option repeatedly. Relatively easy fixes for him to address.

3 points, Rags lose and everyone wanking over the dippers whilst we quietly go about our business. Not bad at all.
To accommodate Sterling at wide left Foden was moved centrally and Phil's impact on the game was greatly reduced as a result.

Perhaps but I thought Phil brought more to the team playing centrally than Raz. Just reinforces what a great player he is and developing all the time.

A problem is an awful lot of competition for the wide spots and not much for the central one.

Sterling. Frustrating, particular after his comments this week.

Just don’t think he’s technically on the same level as a lot of our players and is a bit of a flat track bully.

Mbappe to Real, Sterling to PSG I think is a real possibility. Suits all parties.

We left three exceptional performances on the pitch before the international break, a drop off was to be expected but three players had utter stinkers and it dragged us down. Glad we kept a clean sheet and although he’s not as good as Ed with his distribution Zach is a brilliant back up keeper.

Oh and Bernie is on a fucking mission for a move which helps us a lot this season he’ll be a massive loss if he goes.

Why would any team with CL ambitions want to sign Sterling?

Because whilst we watch him week in, week out and know what he is capable of, because he has great PR and the media fully bought into him the vast majority of football supporters seem to think he is world class.

It was pretty poor, but to be expected after the international break.

Bernie, Laporte, Rodri and Stones were above the rest.

It's hard to say who came out worse, Mahrez or Sterling, both were mediocre.

Kev also got away with another sketchy display, masked a little by a great strike just when we needed it.

Bernie won’t go

Dreadful performance, but Burnley were worse.
Very pedestrian in our build up and no quick passing when we needed. Also when we change out our back four( and they are quality) they can’t read each other’s moves like a settled side we are use to. But hey we won 3 pts and we move forward. We will win the league this season no doubt about it.
