Next Manager after Pep

Rather he say something like ‘who knows it’s impossible to see into the future’ then to completely rule it out. Perhaps I’m being too precious but I don’t like him basically ruling out Staying for another 5 plus years.

Sometimes get the feeling he feels as though he is doing us a favour being our manager.
That’s a totally ridiculous thing to say and it comes from your Likkle City inferiority complex.

He’s our longest serving manager and we are his long serving tenure. He fights our corner in the media every week. What more do you want? Him to sing Munich songs and have a City tattoo ?

winning the champions league will see pep leave straight after the final
make no bones about it ? the one last thing on the list of what pep has to do at manchester city before he can feels its job done and time to move on

maybe its this season and i would think the city board should be looking for a new manager right now and should have a short list of managers ready to take over ? forget ex-players like kompany ? its far to early and he needs more time. also its a no to arteta. and vieira or brendan rodgers

for me nobody can replace pep and the club may need to look at the whole coaching side of the club and change
yes we can keep the DNA of playing out from the back but i think looking forward the false 9 or not having strikers needs redressing and fixing

No, it won't he'll leave at the end of a contract, do you really think if we win it this year,he would n't do next season?

Every year is a bonus as far as I am concerned- love the guy and his football .

Its going to be weird when he's gone and we know the next person will not be as good.

I guess its because normally a manager is sacked when things go bad you always have optimism that the new guy will be better than the old one, but with Pep he will walk out on his own terms and his replacement will be inferior and we just have to accept that.

the sort of manager we attract will be totally different from what we normally do.

top managers will want to come because what pep leaves with players coming through and player investment will be a pleasure for somebody to walk in to.

There also must have been times where potential managers would think "can i trust the owners". Id say the combination of our owners & directors is about as solid as anywhere in the PL. Coming to man city means you are at the top of European club.

He will think it totally alien that anyone would want him to stay for another 5 years.

There’s a bizarre obsession in this country about managers staying for years. That is refined to England only.
Ferguson and Wenger were anomalies and especially Wenger would have been fired anywhere else in Europe when they won nowt for 2 years.

European teams rotate managers every 3/4 seasons max..

You’re bang on. Ours will be probably the best and most attractive job in the world. One of the best indicators of Pep’s brilliance is that he leaves clubs in a very healthy state.

he is always honest - unlike most managers, many of whom would just say they’d love to stay another 5 years even though they know it’s unlikely in this day & age. However, Pep didn’t say he was leaving either!!

He won't hanker to manage another club particularly so guess international football and presume personal circumstances will dictate his next move. I wouldn't even rule out being England manager. Every season with him is a bonus.

yes

i would bet if we won the champions league this season then pep steps down straight away
manchester city and pep would have a verbal deal if he won champions league he could leave if he wanted to.
pep is going to leave when he's ready ? if he see's city and him can not go anywhere else or get any higher after winning every thing possible then its job done and time to leave

he has said it many times that once he see's there is nothing else he can win or do at manchester city then its time to leave shake hands and say think you

for me he has stayed on because of manchester city are treated badly by uefa and champions league officials and city don't get the rub of the green like the so called elite clubs ? any other club pep as manager wins champions league in 3 to 4 seasons. munich was not the right fit for pep ? but if he stayed on another year he would have won it and the munich team that won it in 2019/20 was mostly pep team

but manchester city must be looking at the next manager and have already sounded out 2 or 3 by now
i don't believe brendan rodgers has been give the ok to be the next manager and i think his style is so far from what pep and city have setup over the years. its more counter attacking style and the long ball into the channels

the england job is a great shout and would be great with all the younger players and foden to build a team
fuck it city sack him now give pep the england job and win the world cup. who cares about the piss pot champions league anyway

He won't have won back to back CL's though, so he'd still be a failure if he goes after the first

Win it first then England!. He loves English players by all accounts.

This is not true.

City are able to compete in the market with Barca, Bayern ,Real due to Pep's presence. Pep at City balanced out the playing field in Europe.

Once Pep goes the situation will be back to normal again. City don't have the prestige to compete with those clubs as we saw with Mancini and Pellegrini era. The occasional elite level player + loads of OK/good players surrounding them.
That is good enough to compete in the PL but second class in CL.

It will be back to the occasional title + cup win once hes gone.

EDIT- This is why the board pissing about in the transfer market is extremely annoying. Maximise his time here!

City weren't good enough back then - we are now
