Crystal Palace (H) - Post-Match Thread

one thing for certain ,Mancini's team wins that. they were real fighters . Vinny , Kolorov etc would have snapped those cunts in half, the ref would of got it too.

this lot are soft arse fancy Dans, just like the manager .
First time I've ever heard that Patrick Vieira is a fancy Dan! Have you seen him up close? He's one of the most grounded people I've met on a personal level.
Agree about the players, though. A bunch of cloggers and whingers.

He had the moss the rag kunt in his ear saying give give it it’s a red send him of then probably pissed his self laughing while stuffing his fourth donut in his gob.

If he hasn’t put himself in that position to enable the ref to possibly give him a red card then it wouldn’t have happened. We are continually putting ourselves in a situation where any other game the ref would just give a foul and a yellow, but we all know, WE will be given a red instantly, without question.

We got suckered by paddy's team ,fair play to them ,they stuck to a game plan which worked very well for them.
We have no devine right to just turn up & expect a win , my opinion this team is not has good has the champion winning teams of 2017- 2018 & 2018-2019 seasons , what a joy to watch .
It wasn't down to the ref or anything to do with the standard of the pitch ,has a team we didn't turn up & stamp are authority on the opposition or the game.
The squad is disjointed in some departments ,how many fuckin wingers do we need for starters ?
Bad management in player recruitment in my eyes & no coincidence that a few players are way off their best performances ,is that down to the demands of pg & his ways?

Mancini famously never lost a football game at City.

I've got to say, this idea that Mancini got us, and had more fight him in, and was a better manager, than Pep is one of the weirder myths that have popped up here. He's a legend and all that, but we can compare and contrast the two records. It's on the internet for all to see.

Thought we could of sat back and hoof the ball just like our disallowed goal came about.
This was surprising (or maybe not!) - a man down you’d think we’d try and go long a bit more, get the speedsters on and play it over the top for them to chase

always happens when we get beat, football wise we are on another planet under pep, but mancini will always be my favourite of the two, the team mancini constructed was fucking nails and had plenty of options up front

Your not reading it right, he’s talking about our team.

I've basically reposted this from the WHU game.... As I've been saying all season... We're good. In fact we're very very good! But we're a world class Striker & a Messi short of being Pep's best ever side.

We may never get that once in a generation Messi-type Superstar, but attaining a world class striker who can make the difference in tight games like yesterday's with a moment of magic, is well within our reach.

We know what we've got to do next summer. I wish for Haaland, but I doubt we stand a cat in hell's chance of getting him, so we'll do what we always do... We'll drop a level below, at a price we can justify, & hopefully turn that player into the world class Superstar we need for tight games.

I'm fuckin gutted beyond belief, & I had a feeling of foreboding prior to yesterday's match & my worse fears came true. This week will hopefully concentrate our minds on the Derby next week. We'll see. :-(

Luckily may not be that costly for us, but 20 points from the first 30 is not good enough for a team who have ambitions to win the league.

One of those games where the timings of the goals was perfect for them. Early goal unsettled us, late goal was on the cards as we chased the game.

I found the performance of the referee yesterday... interesting. Marriner was it? May do a little digging into his affairs to see what is what.

Yep mate, was definitely Marriner, not Atwell.

We all saw it v Hammers and saw the same set up again today. We STILL haven’t figured out how to break down teams that defend narrow with numbers behind the ball. Any team that wants to get something from a game with us just needs to set up this way. It’s been working for some time now. No point having all the possession etc etc if your opponent scores 1 more goal than you or in some cases isn’t even bothered.

lose yes, but at least fight .

Someone said we've got loads of wingers. We do in that Pep plays lots of players in the wide positions.

But Foden isn't. Although he's the best in the wide left position but that's because he's a world class player.

Mahrez cutting on from the right? He could never do what Sane did on the left. So for me he's not a winger. If we played 442, he'd be the 10.

Grealish pretty much the same. Not quick enough.

The two who I think are wingers are Sterling and Jesus.Torres when he's back too. Although in my view he should be our 9 until such time as we buy a striker.

Our second best striker is Jesus.

Given all that I'd go

Sterling Jesus Foden

Yes I know Raheem is desperately out of form, but playing on the right may reinvigorate him.

And when Torres is fit

Jesus Torres Foden

Where this leaves Mahrez and Grealish I don't know.

Think City are in a unique position, if teams come to play football against City we tend to win by 4 or 5. If teams are anti football and defend with 10 or 11 behind the ball it's harder for City but City normally find away though once the opponents tire abit.

I dont watch many other games but the few I have seen are more open. I dont see many teams with all behind the ball against the rags or the dippers to the same extent as us. The dippers and rags ping it long for their fast forwards. How do they get teams to come onto them to leave space behind and City cant ?

I would love City for one game ( and refund us lol ) to just pass it around on the edge of our box so the other had to come out. At the moment when City this most of the time the other teams doesn't engage and just sits back. It the other team didnt come out it would be the most boring game in history ! Partially if City did it at away ground, were it is down the home team to try and win.

I expect the rags to put 10 behind the ball at the swamp and be anti football. City should just knock it around our box would be interesting how the rags fans take that.
I wonder which team the press would turn on ;)

For our opponents they only see their team play this way once or twice a season, for us its nearly every home game that's why I call it anti football. And I can see why some people say City are boring to watch. But it takes two teams to play football if one teams is playing not to win...

WHU = Parked the bus
Palace = Parked the bus
Rags= will park the bus

3 teams in a week that wont play good attractive football. I dont expect teams to roll over but I pay big money and want to see a 3-2 even if City lose

Also if the refs did their jobs and booked players for time wasting from the word go, that might help
