i think he has the skillset to be great on the right wing i dont see him staying on the left wing long term.
Exactly. He is a central midfielder. His passing range is incredible. Didn't the media say Pep was coaching him to be a no 8 in training.

I don't think he will ever have the pace to get past full backs. He isnt that quick.
He's a lot faster than people give him credit for. His issue atm is that he's not quite got the strength to consistently make the most of it like Walker for example does.

It's why De Bruyne often charges past people with ease despite not being a speedster himself.

People only think he is a speedster because of those bullshit sprint speeds that the premier league supposedly records.

Do you mean like play him in as a no 8 and have him set the tempo of the game with his passing.

If you have a special talent and in my personal view he is you can do 2 things

Play him all over the place because he is good he will do well in most positions or

Get him on the ball as much as possible

Phil tends to be brilliant or have a quiet game, he never has a stinker just doesn’t get involved a lot. Personally if the team works around him he can’t have a quiet game. Not many managers would have put Zidane on the wing or gascoigne as a false 9. Him and Silva are our best players so I would play them both as 8s but Foden should go where the ball is he shouldn’t be restricted.

just doing so many good things in every game. established himself as one of the first name on the team

Brilliant but still want him deeper. Maybe add 5lbs of muscle or so in the summer as well, though his incredible balance lets him get away with more than most.

Better than Saturday but still think we’re not seeing the best of him as a #9. He’s a better left forward than Grealish so should be playing there.

Played ok,and doing a job fo the team.

We haven't quite got our blend right yet,and a couple of players,Phil included, arent showing their best as a result.

A proper striker will address so much.

Difficult to argue with. Doesn't seem to be any Messi or Maradona type on the horizon.

I wonder could Phil become England's greatest ever player. Surpass Bobby Charlton, Jimmy greaves, Tom finney etc.
Football is a different game from when those played.

Phil Foden has qualities in the modern game that could see him rise to the very top. Global greatness tends to be judged historically by success and achievements. I love to watch him and for me he is already a very special player at such a young age, by any standard. Key to the future of City and England.

He is still growing but has a durable physique not having been prematurely forced.

I dont think the general public have realised yet that he's arguably our best player already and he's 21 and the players he is outshining are the best squad in world football.

He needs to find his shooting boots again because that will really elevate him from the pack, but otherwise he is only 1 or 2 performances in prime time games before he's getting Ballon d'Or shouts from across Europe.

He's got everything to be a great modern day, midfield general - skill, ball control, ball retention, deceptive speed, great passing ability, awareness of where he and others are on the pitch, he tackles and he scores goals.

It's amazing that he's ours, i luv him as a player already and he's still not the finished article!
