Queues

Sometimes there are reasons for the queues, like today when the guy behind me is munching on a pie whilst holding a can of Stella in his other hand!
Even the Steward laughed

queues have been fine for me all season. absolutely dreadful just before covid, but post-covid it’s been fine.

If the footy weren't as good as it is, MCWFC aside, then the matchday experience is wearing a bit thin. Come in the car and it's a tenner for Blue Car Park and the possibility of horrendous queuing, get to food outlets at the same time I often arrived in previous seasons and there's queues - got in one today and it wasn't moving, the till had conked out so the queue moved to another queue and, hey presto, the till started working again! No steak pies, the lass offered me some fuckin' curried concoction! Today I came on the train - five mins late and Platform 1 at Littleborough was akin to the Arctic, train rammed, no Etihad Campus trains from Victoria even though it was matchday. Walked back down the Canal to Victoria and I got a seat - again, apart from the goals the only highlight of the MDE! Get it sorted, Marwood, Burnham, Olly!

Never have a queue at gates B
The biggest problem I have is parking!
I arrived to where I normally park a bit later than normal today (Briscoe Lane) at 1.05pm and almost the entire road was full
I really don't have any other transport options to get to the game, unless I want to at least double my journey times to and from the stadium
This is what will eventually stop me attending

Totally agree mate. It's been a massive cock-up. My season ticket has hardly worked this season. Saturday it didn't. Another time my lads had to go and get a paper ticket and missed kick off. Buying tickets has been difficult, with credit card payments being refused despite no problems. You have to sit on hold if you try to get help. It takes two days to answer email enquiries.

I've told my mate what a fuck up it's been and he can't believe we didn't introduce it slowly in tandem with the old system. Apparently that's what Liverpool did.

Without question it's already affecting attendances. From a purely personal point of view I missed the Burnley game but didn't pass the ticket onto my dad so he could invite his mate like normal. He and his mate didn't bother going to the Wycombe game because they relocated him to a shit seat and he couldn't get through on the phone. There must be thousands of similar stories.

The South sTand took half an hour to fill up on Saturday. The second I sat down I could see there had been a real problem.
this has been the shittest season "match day experience" wise ever. Ive not been to the last 3 games due to work so dont know if its improved.
My season ticket hasnt worked once , despite being reassured it would work after every time. I had the police involved against southampton because my phone let my son in but the steward was being a right dick and saying i had to go to ticket office and sort it and leave my 9 year old son in the ground so i lost it with him....anyway the police came and they decided to just let me in.that was the last game i went to as i used to give my dad my card when i couldnt go but hes give up going now as he doesnt have a smart phone and last year he had a print at home ticket that got wet and they wouldnt let him in because the bar code was wet and smudged and couldnt be read. I dont want to pass it on to anyone else in case they have the same trouble getting in.
Ive rang loads of times but never get through and emailed about 5 times complaining about this and the service and the bars inside at 315, they eventually replied to 1 and got a standard reply about they are working hard , unprecedented times blah blah and they never replied to my reply.
Im sat in ss1 for psg game so hopefully it will better

I arrived a bit earlier yesterday and it was better. Got there at 1:15 and was straight in and got served for a pint within 5 pints. The travel too and from is still a nightmare though. The same journey I’ve taken for 15 years is taking me 30/45 mins longer , same on the way out. Also finding Parking is harder don’t know why and I’ve tried mixing up my routes this season with the same outcome.

When you get to the turnstile do you put your phone in the slot like a seasoncard? Everyone seems to do that but you are supposed to hold your phone a cm from the reader because it works by radio transmission. Using the phone as a bar code is not very reliable. You can have problems with screen brightness for example.

Seem to be fewer buses to the ground this year. I used to get bus in and walk back but now I just walk it. Tiring but reliable.

Phone in the hole is the way forward Marvin. The NFC has never worked on my phone at the ground but does elsewhere. I don't even bother with it now, just open the barcode in my Google Wallet, shove it in the hole, wait 1 or 2 seconds and I'm in.

Spent ages fucking about trying to enter the 'right way' first couple of games. It's not helped by the club saying 'Just the barcode' won't work to get in when it does. The NFC stuff has probably put quite a few off going as their phones don't support it.

Was running late on Sunday and thought I'd miss KO couldn't believe it when they had opened more turnstiles like an answer to our prayers, still I was too late for a pint of amstel, not because I was late but because they'd managed to sell out before kick off, oh well hopefully they can work on that one for next weekend. Well done city.

I was in early, didn't have a pint of piss/froth* but there was a girl & lad flogging beer tokens, well sort of, they seemed scared to approach anyone. Wonder how that works at HT if they've sold out?

Big improvement at SS yesterday. I enter via M1 but there was a steward directing people to N1 as the queues were shorter (there has never been that option previously). I got in fairly quickly having got there at 1.45 and was in my seat for KO. I thought the searches could have been a bit quicker as once I got to the now three turnstiles, two had no-one at them and the other just two people. Ideally they need to have a short queue at every turnstile to get to maximum efficiency but I think they will sort this out easily.

I don't know if new scanners have been installed or if I entered via the new turnstile but presenting my phone to the scanner worked far quicker than previously. This has been hit and miss and sometimes I've had to go to the QR code and insert my phone in the slot.

In summary, a big step in the right direction and potentially a solution to the queues that have dogged M1 since SS3 opened.

No trouble getting out of the ground

Every home game there is a mass exodus on about the 85th minute

It's embarrassing
That was Neverton fans! Given that it was a Sunday afternoon ko what is th rush to disappear at 80 mins or before. Will be interesting to see how many people leave on Wednesday night that early if we are 3-0 up.

I suspect that for whatever reason the NFC at the Etihad doesn't work with older phones. I had this problem although NFC worked perfectly well elsewhere. Had to use the QR code in the slot method, ditto my son has the same issue with his. I changed my phone recently for a new Samsung and now NFC entry works fine. Its a crap system that apparently requires 50-odd thousand people to each have a bang up to date phone.

NFC (near field communication) I have been holding my phone a cm from the reader just like a PDQ for a bank card however, since I put my phone in the slot, saw a guy doing it a few games ago, its works quicker and Im not in QR mode its definitely NFC
