Cancelo was first choice in 8 out of 9 months last season. Zinchenko wasn't, even though he did very well. Note that Cancelo started in the league cup final and 3 days later in the 1st leg vs PSG. That was in late April. Zinch displaced Cancelo in the final weeks of the season because Cancelo lost form. Imo, that's the reason why Zinchenko started the CL final, not because he outperformed Cancelo over the course of the whole season.

Zinchenko is very useful and has been an excellent servant to the club, but when Cancelo is on form, Cancelo is better. We are lucky to have both Zinchenko and Cancelo.

I hope not. He stayed and fought for his place in 2018 and rewarded with an extension in 2019 (until 2024) - I don’t think we’d be happy to readily let him go like we were back then, though, and rightly so.

Could you blame him for wanting to leave?

Can't even get a minute vs Everton when the game is wrapped up.

he can want to leave but its not happening in january,what will happen if walker and cancelo get injured and zinchenko is sold

Realistically Zinchenko is currently 1st choice cover if either Walker or Cancelo are unavailable.
If Walker is out, I am assuming Cancelo will slip into the right back position.

We’ve gone from having hardly an option worth mentioning at left back to having 2 that are probably top 10 in the league, Cancelo is currently best in the country.
 
Thought he started superbly, brought the same level of energy as Bernardo to midfield which contributed heavily to our first half dominance. Was a bit too eager at times though pressing too far up making it easier to get behind him. Admirable performance but correct to be replaced. Not his future but a viable stand in.
 
Said it for years but for me the lad is not even good enough for a runners up medal in any way shape or form.Totally out of his depth in Citys midfield and even worse as a left full back.
For those of you think he is more than good enough then our Manager thought better at half time ... but may of of us thought exactly the same before the start.
Another player who is average.
