Think the last 2 league home games have shown that if a team is willing to sit back and frustrate them for long periods, it is possible to get something.

They do look a bit inadequate up front and goal contributions from defenders have helped them quite a lot too.

Question is do you go with Havertz for fluidity or hope Lukaku's goals are enough?

We absolutely battered Burnley 1.0 to be fair. Just poor finishing. We struggle to create against Burnley 2.0, which was more concerning, but then again we are the second highest scorers in the league, so I'm not concerned about our ability to score. It's just sometimes some team will just succeed in nullifying you if that is what they set out to do. It's happened to City 3 times this season.

I suppose the biggest difference I see with Chelsea is you don't have that many reliable goalscoring attacking players because eventually the defenders scoring with dry up.

Villa on September 11th was your only win without a defender scoring. In the 5 league games where a defender hasn't scored you've won 1, drawn 3, lost 1.

The line up today looked like it was relying on an another unexpected goal source to find you another win. Ziyech, Werner, Hudson Odoi, Loftus Cheek, Jorginho doesn't scream goals.

I suppose the big question would be how much does Lukaku change things when he's back (& Mount to some extent).

Yeah that's a fair assessment.

I'm thinking Havertz, Pulisic, CHO and Mount will get enough goals between the compliment Lukaku's probable 15-20 goals.

But yes, that's something Tuchel needs to figure out.

Yeah, I think a combination of those players would deliver a better outcome. Along with the odd goal from Reece James which seems more reasonable given most games he spends a lot of time in the final third.

At the moment it does seem that one of the limiting factors will be can you get enough attacking players in the line up to score.
-----------------Mendy
----Chalobah---Silva---Rudiger
James----Kante---Jorginho---Alonso
----Mount-----Lukaku----Havertz/Pulisic/CHO

Or would he consider playing Mount alongside 1 of Jorginho/Kante?

Whilst I've said they're not as good as they've been made out to be, they still are very good and definitely better than most.

You can't judge Chelsea too much on a draw at home to Smash-'N'-Grabchester United where they dominated things. Although, they weren't as dominant at any stage as Liverpool or City were.

Shouldn't have been that difficult to figure out. Take Werner off and put Lukaku on.

Well another thing he needs to figure out is how to keep the fluidity and creativity of the team with Lukaku in it.

That’s a difficult one to solve as 50% of the time, Lukaku has the first touch of a horse.

His touch is fine, so is his hold up play. But he just doesn't fit the team's style in the way Havertz does. Our creativity skyrocketed during Lukaku's absence.
