Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

Leeds fans were the quietest ever at our place. When you recall the brilliant atmosphere 6000 of them generated for that FA Cup tie for example. They are kidding themselves if they think otherwise. That said you can hardly blame them that their team didn't turn up.
They never turned up to Maine Road until 1992. Frauds.

There's something about getting pasted that galvanises fans and did for Leeds, they were quite noisy throughout cos they fuck all to cheer for on the pitch. City fans were great, turned out (48k?) and had a sing. Overall decent atmosphere.

I didn't see much evidence of Leeds in the city end, but maybe they were behaving

None near me but I sang Sheepshaggers for 90 minutes.

Felt like more than 48k to me.

There were about ten gobby youngsters at Piccadilly tram after the match, one stocky sorted them out.

Back in the 1960s and 1970s, I used to hate Leeds with a passion. It was down to the Don Revie negative style of play that annoyed me.

I warmed to them when Howard Wilkinson brought Leeds back up and helped to deny United a League title. I was impressed with them after David O’Leary became manager before they imploded with a mountain of debt.

I would prefer to see Leeds in the Premier League rather than the likes of Burnley or many teams in the bottom half of the table. At least they try to play football.

I hope Leeds can stay up. They should do once they have some of their injured players back.

Everyone in 115 tonight, bravo, fucking bravo!
I thought it was great tonight in all the singing sections and more
Everyone give themselves a pat on the back.

Even a little Poznan in the Family stand :-)
My mate started the Poznan off next to me in 110. He grabbed hold of me and another guy and spun us round shouting "let's all do the Poznan". Next minute it was in the family stand.

Great game, great atmosphere and i have a bit of a sore throat right now. The noise definitely inspired the players to turn it on, and they did.

Anyone know if BT will show the replay?

Yeah I meant Leeds
Fair enough I thought you meant wolves, leeds did, but the worst thing they could do against us was play that way tonight, and the keeper keep passing it to the full back every time, who we put straight under pressure with our press. For all Bielsa is a "great coach", his set up tonight was terrible, and it got the result it deserved.

Anyway we should get back to "etihad atmosphere" I guess.

Leeds were very vocal to start with and that generated a fitting response from us, anybody that doesn't believe having away fans close by to the singing section matters need only see tonight as proof it absolutely does. Players on the pitch helped us silence them very quickly.

I'm right in the middle of it so I'm always sceptical of how loud we actually are but usual vocal sections were good tonight I felt.

fair play to Leeds fans they were good but this is their first season in the Premier league with fans for almost an entire generation, teams that are experiencing it for the first time are always loud for a season or two before the novelty wears off and they only get up for the bigger games, they weren't special in that respect.

Leeds loudest away fans so far this season, like a cup game.

Of course the City atmosphere was better than most league games so far after scoring early and scoring at regular intervals.

52.4k, it looked more than against wolves to me, but I only watched on TV, as I was working.

They will be down soon.
